Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, the reimagined Splash Mountain, has experienced a significant operational issue months after its grand opening in November 2024. The Disneyland Resort ride, which brings the world of The Princess and the Frog (2009) to life, was temporarily halted recently due to a technical malfunction, leaving guests stuck at the top of the ride’s iconic 50-foot drop.
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure officially replaced Splash Mountain at Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort last year. The attraction takes place after the events of the Disney Princess film and sees Anika Noni Rose (Princess Tiana), Bruno Campos (Prince Naveen), Jenifer Lewis (Mama Odie), and Michael-Leon Wooley (Louis) reprise their roles. Guests help the characters gather musicians for a New Orleans-style celebration!
In its early days, Disneyland Park’s version seemed to experience fewer technical setbacks than Magic Kingdom Park’s. However, like any high-capacity Disney Park attraction, occasional breakdowns are inevitable.
The latest incident, captured on video by TikTok user @coryhogan3, shows riders anxiously waiting as the log-flume attraction ground to a halt. The video shows the view from the steep incline, with guests visibly uncomfortable and confused about how long they would be stuck.

“As you heard my friend was freaking out,” the Disney Park guest said.
Thankfully, Disney cast members were able to prevent an evacuation, and the ride resumed normal operations.
“The ride came back on shortly after,” the guest added.
Disneyland Resort has not publicly commented on the cause of this Tiana’s Bayou Adventure breakdown, which isn’t unusual for minor incidents like this one. However, the attraction was quickly back in service, with guests continuing to enjoy the enchanting, musical journey through the bayou.
