This new Princess Tiana destination might not be as controversial as Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, but it will probably be more consistently enjoyed among Disney Fanatics!

The plucky New Orleans native and renowned chef from the 2009 animated movie (who was originally meant to be a chambermaid) has been soaking up a lot of limelight in recent months due to her upcoming ride (which replaced Splash Mountain) as well as plans for her own Disney+ series.

Now, Princess Tiana is getting her own restaurant (directly based on her restaurant from The Princess and the Frog), which is also named Tiana’s Palace!

Sooner Than You Think!

Disney has been sharing tidbits of tasty information for Tiana fans as the restaurant approaches its as-yet-unknown opening date, including the restaurant’s aesthetic and vague descriptions of its menu — but now we actually DO have an opening date to circle on our calendars!

According to journalist Scott Gustin, Disneyland Guests will be able to enjoy the offerings of Tiana’s Palace in just a couple of weeks! “Tiana’s Palace officially opens at Disneyland Park on Sept. 7,” the journalist wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter).

From Louisiana to California

Tiana’s Palace will be open and operating in New Orleans Square within Disneyland Park. This restaurant is replacing the French Market Restaurant, which offered savory meals like slow-roasted Louisiana Beef Stew.

According to Disney, “Tiana’s Palace will be the newest restaurant on Orleans Street. Within its peach-colored walls and fancy green wrought-iron balconies, you’ll find elegant fixtures and appointments reminiscent of Tiana’s life and friendships.”

In addition, “the new Tiana’s Palace will have much of the same pinch of pizzazz and flair as the restaurant from the film, offering authentic New Orleans flavors inspired by Tiana’s friends and adventures in this quick-service style restaurant.”

Will Princess Tiana Make An Appearance?

Disneyland Guests will not be able to find the Disney Princess in the restaurant itself, but they might spot her mingling in New Orleans Square sometimes — and as for the food?

The Tiana’s Palace cuisine will reportedly “expand on many of the current favorites served in the location, explore seasonal flavors and, of course, offer some New Orleans classics.”

Here’s hoping that beignets are included at every meal, and that this restaurant has a wonderful opening on September 7 in Disneyland!
