TikToker’s Packing Hack Divides Disney Fans

There is a lot that goes into planning a Walt Disney World vacation, and no one will tell you it’s simple. Between picking your travel dates, what Disney Resort hotel you will be staying at, where you will be eating, and what kind of Park tickets you want to purchase, it’s a lot. But things don’t calm down once your Disney World trip is booked. Traveling to Disney World is a big deal, and you want to make sure you have everything you need to enjoy your time at the Most Magical Place on Earth. Weather can be tricky, which can make packing even tougher.

One thing that can make packing for Disney even harder is keeping your luggage under the weight limit. Most people who have flown know that bags must be under 50 pounds, or the airline will charge more. Checking bags is also expensive, with the first bag costing around $25 and the second bag double or triple that. And if your bag is close to the weight limit going down, then packing to go home after you’ve bought souvenirs can make things even worse.

However, one TikToker is going viral — and dividing fans — over how she packs for her Disney World vacations. In her TikTok video, Sarah (@thesarahrachul) said that, instead of packing a bag to take on the plane, she ships her clothes to her Disney Resort hotel. She typically takes Spirit Airlines, which charges flyers for both a carry-on and a checked bag. But it only cost her $28 to ship her box to Disney through FedEx.

Commenters weren’t sure what to think of Sarah’s Disney hack. Some said that she was just flying on the wrong airline. Many pointed to Southwest Airlines, which offers Guests two free checked bags, along with a free carry-on. Sarah said that Southwest flights were typically more expensive than Spirit, but people said that, after all the extra fees charged by Spirit, they are typically about the same.

Other TikTokers were wondering what Sarah would do if her boxes got lost or delayed during shipping. If all of Sarah’s belongings for her trip were in the box, what would she do if it wasn’t there by the time she arrived for her vacation? Sarah said that she just made sure that she shipped her boxes with plenty of time before her trip. Often, her boxes arrived a couple of days before she did.

If you are thinking of taking after Sarah and shipping your belongings to your Walt Disney World Resort hotel, then there is something to be aware of. According to the Walt Disney World website, there is a $6 fee for each package handled by the front desk or delivered to your hotel room. The fees will be charged to your room.
