Top 10 Reasons to Visit Disney World in the Springtime

Springtime is a time of renewal and new beginnings. The same is true for springtime at Disney World. There is much to experience and enjoy on every trip to Disney World, but even more so during the springtime. Here is our list of the ten best reasons to visit Disney World during the springtime!

10 – the weather – even though weather in Florida is generally always warm, once the calendar reaches late March, daily temperatures are consistently in the low to mid-80s. Additionally, Florida’s rainy season doesn’t begin until the May, so you should be able to dodge the afternoon rain showers and it will be warm enough where you can enjoy the pools after your trip to the parks.

9 – special deals – Disney generally offers special deals and discounts in the spring to help boost attendance during non-spring break times. Be sure to check the Disney website or your travel agent to see if there are any deals that you and your family can take advantage of!

8 – refurbishments – a lot of attractions are generally taken off-line for the annual maintenance during the slow time of the year, immediately after the holidays. Depending on the refurbishment, most attractions are back on-line and you’ll be able to enjoy all of your favorites. You can also check on-line for a listing to see an updated list.

7 – Epcot’s International Flower and Garden Festival – every March until May, Epcot is home to wonderfully themed topiaries from all of the Disney classics. Accompanying these topiaries are outdoor kitchens featuring delicious tapas-style dishes and an assortment of drinks. Be sure to check out the menus before you head to the festival!

6 – 24 hour event – for the last couple of years, Disney has offered a one-time, special event at the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World and at Disneyland and Disney’s California Adventure. This event allows guests to enjoy these parks for 24 hours while the park is open from 6 AM to 6 AM. There is something truly magical about riding Splash Mountain at 3 AM and watching the sunrise an illuminate Cinderella’s Castle. In addition the attractions, special character interactions, food, and merchandise are also available.

5 – unique dining experiences – during various times of the year (spring break included), Disney will open dining locations that are only open seasonally when guest levels are high in the park. Recently, Disney announced that Aunt Polly’s a snack stand located on Tom Sawyer Island was open to help alleviate lines at other locations. Springtime is a great time to enjoy these unique experiences while they last.

4 – Star Wars Weekends – held every year at Disney’s Hollywood Studios from mid-May to mid-June, this event features special events, character and actor interactions, and special merchandise. Be sure to check on-line for a full listing of events and when various actors will be at the parks!

3 – crowd levels – depending on your visit during spring, you may experience low to moderate crowd levels as different school districts have different spring break schedules. Crowds generally start low at the beginning of March with crowd levels growing until Easter and then remain low until summer vacation begins. If you are able to coordinate your vacation for a lower crowd time, you’ll be able to experience much more of the parks and the resort!
