Travis Kelce Just Traded the Football for a Six Flags Paycheck

NFL star Travis Kelce has become an official brand ambassador for Six Flags in 2026, a significant development as he continues his career with the Kansas City Chiefs. The three-time Super Bowl champion, who proposed to Taylor Swift in 2025, will promote Six Flags parks via social media and marketing campaigns.

This partnership connects the couple to both Disney, through Swift, and Six Flags, enhancing their celebrity influence. Kelce will share content on his platforms, and Six Flags will use his name and likeness in various promotions. The financial details of the deal haven’t been disclosed, but it’s likely substantial given his fame.

He Already Invested $200 Million

The announcement builds on Kelce’s existing relationship with Six Flags, and here’s where it gets interesting: in October 2025, he joined activist investment firm Jana Partners and other investors in a group that acquired a roughly 9% stake in the company, valued at an estimated $200 million. So Kelce already had serious financial skin in the game before taking on this ambassador role, which provides additional context for why he’s willing to put his name and face on Six Flags’ marketing materials.

Six Flags President and CEO John Reilly pointed to Kelce’s personal history with the parks in explaining why the NFL star represents natural fit, stating that Travis Kelce has been a lifelong fan of Six Flags having grown up going to some of the company’s most iconic parks with family and friends, making him a natural ambassador to represent the Six Flags brand across North America.

The Cedar Point & Six Flags Connection Is Real

Kelce grew up in the Cleveland area and has spoken publicly about visiting Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio, with his family as a kid, creating childhood memories at the park, often considered one of the premier roller coaster destinations in North America. Cedar Point’s former operator, Cedar Fair, merged with Six Flags in 2024, making it part of the same company and allowing Kelce’s childhood park to fall under the Six Flags umbrella.

When the investment was announced last October, Kelce posted on Instagram about wanting to make Cedar Point and Six Flags even more special for the next generation of families, expressing a sentiment that connects his own childhood experiences at these parks with his desire to enhance them for future generations.

That same sentiment came through in today’s ambassador announcement, as Kelce stated that he looks forward to helping Six Flags continue to build excitement for its unrivaled portfolio of parks and to introduce a new generation of fans to unforgettable experiences.

Six Flags Is Going Through Major Changes

The Travis Kelce ambassador deal comes during a period of major change for Six Flags following its 2024 merger with Cedar Fair, which made it the largest regional amusement park operator in North America. Earlier this month, in March 2026, Six Flags announced it will sell seven of its parks, including Valleyfair, Worlds of Fun, Michigan’s Adventure, and four others, to EPR Properties in a transaction that represents strategic portfolio management.

The company also installed a new CEO in December 2025, with John Reilly taking the helm as a longtime theme park executive with 21 years at SeaWorld, who has outlined plans to raise operational quality, improve park throughput, and tailor marketing more closely to local markets. The partnership with Travis Kelce represents one of several investments the company is making in new rides, attractions, and entertainment heading into the 2026 season.

The Taylor Swift Factor

While the ambassador announcement focuses on Kelce’s own credentials and his relationship with Six Flags properties, his engagement to Taylor Swift inevitably factors into the commercial calculus, as Swift commands unprecedented influence over consumer behavior and social media trends.

Swift’s fanbase, known as Swifties, represents a massive demographic that demonstrates extraordinary loyalty and spending power, with Swift’s endorsements and associations capable of driving significant commercial impact for brands fortunate enough to connect with her ecosystem.

The description of Kelce as Taylor Swift’s future husband reflects how his identity has become inextricably linked with Swift’s despite his own considerable accomplishments as a three-time Super Bowl champion. This association provides Six Flags with an indirect connection to Swift’s cultural influence, even though she has no formal relationship with the theme park operator.
