Dollywood is not shutting down for the year, but two of its water rides are. As autumn chills the Smoky Mountains, the theme park has confirmed that Daredevil Falls and Smoky Mountain River Rampage are done for 2026, while the rest of the Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, property keeps its fall and winter events rolling.
What Dollywood Had to Say

Late last week, Dollywood put a closure notice on its Instagram story. The statement from @dollywood read:
“Starting on Saturday, Oct. 18, Daredevil Falls and Smoky Mountain River Rampage will be closed for the rest of the Dollywood operating season.”

The wording contains an error, since October 18, 2026, is a Sunday. The closure itself is confirmed, though. On Sunday, October 18, the park's website marked both Daredevil Falls and Smoky Mountain River Rampage as “CURRENTLY CLOSED FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE 2026 SEASON.”
The Rest of the Park Stays Busy

Guests can still count on a full day out. The park, along with Dollywood's DreamMore Resort and Spa and Dollywood's HeartSong Lodge & Resort, is hosting the annual Harvest Festival & Great Pumpkin LumiNights.
This season also brought Harvey's Boo Bash, the first ticketed after-hours Halloween event Dollywood has ever offered. The limited-capacity celebration includes treat trails, dance parties, themed snacks, rides under the stars, and character meet-and-greets with Harvey and friends. Two dates remain: October 23 and October 30.
Only one week left until the first night of Harvey’s Boo Bash, Dollywood's NEW exclusive limited-capacity nighttime celebration! 🎢 🎃

Looking Ahead

Harvest Festival & Great Pumpkin LumiNights end on October 31. The annual Smoky Mountain Christmas celebration then takes over the whole property, running from November 6 through the end of the operating season on January 3, 2027.
