The Unthinkable Happened in a Disney Ride Queue (And Guests Had To Walk Through It)

Unexpected incidents at Disney parks are nothing new. Over the years, guests have witnessed everything from drunken violence to daredevils who try to scale iconic Disney structures. But sometimes, the chaos is less entertaining—and much more unfortunate.

A Messy Situation at Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT!

Guests at Disney California Adventure’s Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! recently found themselves dealing with an unexpected (and deeply unpleasant) situation.

Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! is one of Disney California Adventure’s most popular attractions, known for its thrilling drop sequences and quirky humor. The ride’s queue winds through the Collector’s fortress, showcasing intergalactic artifacts—but when crowd levels surge, the tight space can make unexpected incidents even more challenging to manage.

According to a Reddit user, a guest reportedly suffered an unfortunate accident in the queue for the Disney ride but kept walking, leaving a trail behind them. “I guess someone pooped themselves and decided to keep walking through so it was on the floor after you leave the first room and up the stairs,” the guest wrote.

The resulting smell was overwhelming, forcing cast members to act quickly. “The poor cast members were gagging trying to figure it out,” the Reddit user noted. “It smelled SO bad.”

To mitigate the situation, Disney staff limited access to certain areas of the queue, redirecting guests where possible. But for those already stuck in line, the odor persisted up until they boarded the ride’s elevators.

The situation has sparked speculation about whether it was the result of a medical issue. One user suggested that Disney’s 2024 updates to the Disability Access Service (DAS), which now excludes certain digestive issues from eligibility, may have played a role.

Another user noted, “Disney removed any digestive issues from their either ‘skip the line’ health rule or the ability to hold your place in line and come back, CMs have been instructed to tell people that they should get a wheelchair and be fine waiting. A friend thinks the previous incident was a colostomy bag, which makes sense.”

Another ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ Queue Incident at Walt Disney World

This isn’t the first time an incident like this has happened at a Disney park.

Earlier this month, a similar situation unfolded at EPCOT’s Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. A guest in line reportedly had a bathroom emergency, but instead of clearing the area, the queue continued moving forward as if nothing had happened. A TikTok video captured guests reacting in disbelief, but still pressing onward through the mess.

A key factor in this incident may be Cosmic Rewind’s recent transition to a standby queue. After operating exclusively with a virtual queue since its 2022 debut, the attraction only recently introduced a traditional standby line. Many guests are still adjusting, with some potentially underestimating the wait time and others unaware of nearby restroom options.

Unlike some Disney attractions, Cosmic Rewind’s queue lacks an in-line restroom, making extended waits especially tricky.

For those who find themselves in an emergency while waiting in line, cast members can easily guide them out of the queue area to the nearest bathroom. It may mean a slight delay in getting on the ride—but as these recent incidents prove, the alternative can be far worse.
