A trip to Disneyland Resort is typically filled with excitement, magic, and memories that families cherish forever. However, for one family, their Disneyland vacation took a frightening turn when their 16-year-old daughter suddenly went missing.
On April 20, 2025, Annie Kathleen, a 16-year-old girl visiting Disney California Adventure Park with her family, became separated from her loved ones after a heated argument.

According to initial reports, after the disagreement, Annie left the park and was last seen walking down Ball Road, just outside the Disneyland Resort.
Her family, unfamiliar with the Anaheim area, quickly became concerned as they realized Annie was not accustomed to the surroundings. Coming from Calipatria, California—over four hours south of Disneyland—the Kathleen family had no idea where Annie might have gone, especially in such a large and unfamiliar city.
The anxiety and uncertainty quickly set in as the family reached out for help. Authorities were notified, and the Anaheim Police Department began their search for the missing teen.

On April 24, 2025, the Anaheim Police Department provided an update that Annie had been found safe, much to the relief of her family and everyone following the case. She was discovered in Mexicali, California, after being spotted by a good Samaritan who recognized her from a Facebook post.

After Annie’s disappearance, the search continued, with local authorities working around the clock to find her. Fortunately, on the afternoon of April 24, Annie was found unharmed. The good Samaritan who recognized her from the Facebook post contacted the authorities, and Annie was located hiding in some garbage cans in Mexicali, which is about four hours south of Disneyland and just one hour away from her home.
Local authorities in Mexicali and Anaheim worked together to track down Annie, though questions remain about how she ended up so far from Disneyland, as she did not have family or friends in the area. Despite these lingering questions, the most important thing is that Annie was found safe and reunited with her family.
