Disneyland Paris Resort is undergoing some major updates to its security screening process, especially for Disney Resort hotel guests. The latest construction update reveals more about the changes in the works.
The only European Disney Resort is currently undergoing significant renovations, with construction walls throughout Disneyland Park, Walt Disney Studios Park, Disney Village, and Disney Resort hotels. Two Starbucks shops have closed for refurbishment at Disney Hotel Santa Fe and Disney Hotel Cheyenne. In addition, Walt Disney Studios Park will become Disney Adventure World in 2026, bringing the highly anticipated World of Frozen and a family-friendly ride based on the movie Up (2009). Meanwhile, Disney Village is working on several new shopping and dining spots, including a McDonald’s location.
However, one of the most noticeable changes is happening at Disney Village, where crews are reimagining the security screening area exclusively for Disney Resort hotel guests. X (formerly Twitter) user @DLPReport recently shared aerial photos of the construction site showing the updated progress:
🔧 Good progress is also being made on the new Disney Village Security Gates for Disney Hotel Guests, and the nearby landscaped area. Hopefully, the railings are temporary or will be painted as they don’t match the rest of Lake Disney 🤨

From the photos, it’s clear that the roof of the new security screening area is mostly completed, but there is still a lot of work to be done in terms of landscaping, concrete work, and other details. As @DLPReport pointed out, some newly installed railings appear out of place compared to the rest of Disney Village and Lake Disney. It’s uncertain if these will be corrected before the project is finished.
In the meantime, guests will be directed to temporary security stations set up under green tents. While Disneyland Paris Resort hasn’t yet provided an official grand opening date for the new security screening area at Disney Village, it’s expected to debut later this year.
Disneyland Paris Resort has security protocols that differ from those at Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort. While most areas use the familiar metal detectors and bag checks, some of the Disney Resort hotels at Disneyland Paris also check guests’ luggage upon entry. Additionally, security personnel may request guests to open their trunks when arriving at the Disney Resort hotels.
