Walt Disney World Times Guide – The 5 Things That You Need to Know

Castle Clock

There are a lot of things that you need to remember when you go to Disney World – MagicBands, tickets, sunscreen, gift cards, comfortable shoes, FastPasses, and so much more! One thing that is essential to get when you get to any of the theme parks is the Times Guide. The Times Guide provides crucial information that will help you and your family plan the best day wherever it is you go on your vacation. Here is our list of the five things that you need to know about the Times Guide!

5 – Restaurant Hours – not every restaurant is open the same hours as the park you are visiting. The Times Guides provides the information about the hours for the various quick service locations throughout the parks. These times change frequently, so make sure you grab a new Times Guide each time to you go to a park. Trust me – I’ve missed out on one too many Mickey pretzels by assuming a place would be open until the park closes!

4 – Atmosphere Entertainment – the pop-up entertainment options throughout Disney World are some of the most cool things! Disney does publish the times and general areas that these performances take place. They may only list those shows as being intermittently throughout the day, but at least you’ll know where and when to keep an eye out for them!

3 – Special Show Times – different shows run on a different schedule. You’ll definitely want to grab a Times Guide when you want to know when the Flights of Wonder or a similar style show is being offered. Those times vary based on the day, predicted crowd levels, and time of the year. Definitely be sure to check these times out so you don’t miss out!!

2 – Character Meet and Greets – people love greeting characters, but you need to know where and when to meet them (especially if they aren’t appearing a a dedicated meet-and-greet location like Princess Fairytale Hall). Again, times vary, so be sure to consult with the Times Guide on every trip. The Times Guide also provides the area location where you’ll meet your favorites!

1 – Special Event Information – during special events, Disney will publish special Times Guides with additional information for event specific activities. You can look for these special Times Guides during Food and Wine and Flower and Garden Festivals. There is a hybrid map/times guide for the special holiday parties at the Magic Kingdom.

The Times Guides may seem like something you don’t need, but it provides valuable information about things being offered in the parks. It is much more easily accessed in the paper format, but all of the same information is also available on the My Disney Experience app. I also enjoy grabbing them as a keepsake from the trip so I can remember everything that we did! They also serve as a good bookmark, too! What are your thoughts? Are the Times Guide a necessity for your family on a trip to the World?
