Every move the Walt Disney Company makes is always met with the same question from fans: How would Walt Disney feel about that? It’s become almost a cottage industry trying to predict how Walt would think about everything. Of course, we will never know how Walt would feel about anything Disney does today, but it is a testament to his influence on the company and us that we still value his opinion today.
As Disney fans, we all want a piece of Walt or something that can connect us to the man behind the magic, especially for those who weren’t alive when Walt Disney was alive. There are so few opportunities for us to feel a connection to the man.

We may have the best opportunity we’ll ever have to be close to Walt now. The Disney Family’s Los Feliz home is now for rent, but you better have deep pockets if you want to get it. The Wall Street Journal reports that you can rent Walt’s home for $40,000 a month.
Walt Disney built the house in 1932 after the success of his Mickey Mouse cartoons. It took only two months for Walt’s crew to make the 6,400-square-foot home. It wasn’t hard to find laborers, as Walt was building it during the height of the Depression. The house looks exactly like a storybook cottage from one of Walt’s movies.
Walt Disney’s former Los Angeles home is now for rent asking $40,000 a month. The Storybook-style home has a turret, leaded-glass windows and a cobblestone motor court. https://t.co/6K7r7Fh6Q3

The home was located near Griffith Park. Walt frequently took his daughters to the Park and lamented that there weren’t enough activities for families in the area. It was this thought that ultimately inspired Disneyland. The Los Feliz home also has a projection room, where Walt showed the Disney family some of his most iconic films, including Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937), Pinocchio (1940), and Fantasia (1940).
The Disney family moved after a decade, but the new home they built on Carlwood Drive in Los Angeles was torn down. So, this is your only opportunity to sleep in one of Walt’s homes. The Los Feliz home was restored to its 1930s glamour. The rental home has four bedrooms and five bathrooms to go along with the nostalgia.
So maybe this year, instead of heading to Walt Disney World for an Orlando vacation, you can head to Los Angeles and live in a vacation rental that belonged to Walt. It was his own Magic Kingdom, and now it can be your own Disney Property. Send photos.
