As the holiday crowds begin to taper off at Walt Disney World Resort, Disney is balancing new guest offerings with the realities of winter weather in Central Florida. Updates to water park access have been announced for the coming year, even as forecasts suggest colder conditions may influence park operations as December comes to a close.
Disney has officially announced the return of the Disney Water Park Seasonal Pass for the 2025–2026 season. The pass allows guests to visit Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon and Disney’s Blizzard Beach multiple times through May 9, 2026. Intended as a budget-friendly alternative to individual tickets, the pass includes one blockout period from March 28 through April 5, 2026. Prices start at $89 for adults and $83 for children.

The Seasonal Pass includes more than admission alone. Guests using the pass can receive a 20% discount on same-day cabana rentals at both water parks. Eligible locations include Polar Patios at Blizzard Beach and Beachcomber Shacks at Typhoon Lagoon. These discounts are available on a walk-up basis only. Passholders are also entitled to one complimentary round of mini golf, valid before 4 p.m. at Fantasia Gardens and Fairways Miniature Golf or Winter Summerland Miniature Golf. This offer may be used at any point during the pass period.
Alongside the pass announcement, Disney shared its seasonal water park operating schedule. Typhoon Lagoon is scheduled to close on February 14, 2026, with Blizzard Beach reopening on February 15. The pass is currently available via Walt Disney World’s Special Offers page and can be purchased online, over the phone, or in person.

Although Typhoon Lagoon will close in February, Disney may have already indicated when guests could expect its return. The resort continues to alternate water park operations for much of the year but has demonstrated flexibility when demand and conditions allow. During the summer of 2025, Disney operated both water parks simultaneously for the first time since 2019.
Even with water park planning in place, weather conditions may disrupt operations. Click Orlando reports that Central Florida could see a shift away from the warm, dry weather experienced during Christmas week.
“While the immediate Christmas period will be warm and dry, models show the potential for a surge of polar and Arctic air to push south towards the end of December,” the outlet states.

A similar weather pattern occurred last year, leading to repeated closures at Blizzard Beach due to cold temperatures. More recently, Typhoon Lagoon has also experienced weather-related closures, including during Thanksgiving weekend.
The report further notes increasing confidence in a cold front arriving between Dec. 29 and 31, bringing the potential for cooler temperatures and rain, though some uncertainty remains regarding the timing and severity of the system.
Disney has not announced any theme park closures at this time, but guests planning visits around the New Year are encouraged to monitor official operating hours.
