10 Amazing Experiences in Frontierland

Frontierland

Of all of the themed lands at the Magic Kingdom, we love spending our time in Frontierland. Between the food, the attractions, and the entertainment, there is much for guests to see and do on a visit to the park. Here is our list of our top ten experiences in Frontierland!

10 – Frontierland Train Station – towards the end of a long day, we tend to head towards the train station to ride back to Main Street, U.S.A. We love the rustic details that the Imagineers added to the station. We also like being able to look down upon the final scene in Splash Mountain as we pull into the station!

9 – Golden Oak Outpost – we enjoy popping by this small food cart that is located on the walkway between Frontierland and Adventureland. Disney World uses this location as a test kitchen of sorts and guests will find unique menu items here. Previously, we have enjoyed pulled pork waffle fries only to find that they were gone on our next trip – be sure to see what delicious grub they are serving up on your next trip!

8 – Chip and Dale Character Interaction – at various points during the day, Chip and Dale are available for pictures at the entrance to Frontierland. The duo are decked out in their western wear and there is usually a line to see them, so be sure to grab a Times Guide so you know when they will be hitting the streets!

7 – Sorcerer’s of the Magic Kingdom – this interactive game is offered throughout the Magic Kingdom, but there are various portals throughout Frontierland that we love discovering and watching the videos, even if we aren’t playing the game on that trip – you can grab your cards and map either at the Main Street Fire Station or at a kiosk in Liberty Square. We love playing this game because we can go at our own place and discover some great hidden details!

6 – Country Bear Jamboree – at this attraction, guests are invited into a musical show featuring a variety of different bears. We love the nostalgia of visiting this attraction and re-experiencing the show for the hundredth time. We also love the fact that it rarely has a long wait and the fact that it offers copious air-conditioning that is very enjoyable on a hot day!

5 – Frontierland Pin Trading Station – for guests who are into pin collecting and looking for unique souvenirs, the pin trading station in Frontierland is always a great place to shop at – we have found a variety of pins that we haven’t seen elsewhere at this location. The shop also has some other souvenirs for guests who might be looking for something else!

4 – Tom Sawyer’s Island – we love exploring the winding trails, Fort Langhorn, and the other buildings on Tom Sawyer Island. It is great to explore the island and feel so removed from the craziness of Frontierland. On really busy days, we like heading to the dock on the island and grab a rocking chair and watch the crowds and the paddle boat go by. Kids and parents alike will love exploring the island!

3– Frontierland Shooting Arcade – even though it costs $1, guests will love taking the time to fire off some rounds at the shooting arcade. You are able to shoot a laser rifle at a variety of targets and see the results. Little kids will love this, but may need some help holding the rifle and being able to see the targets!

2 – Parade Viewing – while most families will crowd around the Hub or line Main Street, U.S.A., one of our favorite places to view any of the parades is in Frontierland – crowd levels tend to be much smaller, so you aren’t worrying about stepping on someone else’s toes or having your view blocked by a tall person or a kid on a parent’s shoulders!

1 – Twin Mountains – two of the best rides in the Magic Kingdom are located in Frontierland – thrill seekers will love both Splash Mountain and Thunder Mountain. They are both extremely popular, so if you are considering riding either on your next trip, make sure to get there early or grab a FastPass!

Frontierland is home to a lot of great experiences, but these are our top ten! What is your favorite Frontierland experience?
