For a long time, celebrities have faced backlash and been forced to defend their comments, actions, and personal beliefs. That has never been more true than it is now, with nearly everyone having a camera and things going viral within hours. Now, celebrities are absolutely allowed to believe whatever they want, stand behind whatever they want, and endorse any political candidate they want.
On the other hand, they can also choose to remain quiet about their personal beliefs and political stances. They are not required to publicly stand behind anyone if they don’t want to.

Zachary Levi, best known for voicing Flynn Rider in Disney’s Tangled (2010), recently made headlines with his endorsement of Donald Trump at a rally in Michigan. Levi’s public declaration followed his prior support for Robert F. Kennedy Jr., whose campaign has since concluded.
Levi characterized his endorsement as potentially “career suicide,” expressing concern over Hollywood’s predominantly liberal political climate and the possible backlash he might face from his peers.
“We’re here to make sure that we are going to take back this country, we are going to make it great again, we are going to make it healthy again. And so, I stand with Bobby, and I stand with Tulsi [Gabbard], and I stand with everyone else who is standing with President Trump. Because I do believe, of the two choices that we have, and we only have two, Donald Trump, President Trump is the man that can get us there. And he’s gonna get us there because he’s gonna have the backing and the support and the wisdom and the knowledge and the fight that exists in Robert Kennedy Jr. and former Representative Tulsi Gabbard.”
“But I will say, though, within my industry, as you can probably imagine, Hollywood is a very, very liberal town, and this very well could constitute career suicide.”
After he endorsed the former president, The View cohost Whoopi Goldberg once again showcased her candid style as she addressed remarks made by Disney star Zachary Levi regarding Hollywood’s political landscape.
During a recent episode of The View, Goldberg disagreed with Levi’s characterization of Hollywood as overwhelmingly liberal, suggesting instead that the industry has always had a mix of political perspectives. Goldberg emphasized the diverse political affiliations present in Hollywood, asserting that many individuals continue to thrive professionally regardless of their political leanings.
“So, okay. That’s not necessarily true. From the beginning of Hollywood, it’s always been a very right-leaning town, but I know you don’t know much about the Hollywood history, so let me school you.”
“We are, like America is, we’re mixed. We’re a mixed bunch. And sometimes, it may seem like there’s more Democrats and sometimes it seems like there’s more Republicans.”
“The truth of the matter is, very few people seem to bite it because they’re Republican. Jon Voight, who is working. Dennis Quaid, who is working. People work — stop that. It’s more BS, and it’s unnecessary.”

The endorsement has broader implications for Disney, a company that remains intrinsically linked to the entertainment industry. Former advisers to Trump have previously made alarming statements regarding the future of major corporations like Disney if Trump reclaims the presidency. Such claims have heightened scrutiny over the company’s current and future political climate.
Amidst the political controversy, discussions persist about Levi’s possible involvement in a live-action remake of Tangled. Speculation about Levi reprising his role as Flynn Rider has circulated, although it remains to be seen if his recent political stance could impact casting decisions or public support for such a film. Given the nostalgic nature of Disney properties, fan reactions will play a crucial role in determining the feasibility of any adaptations.
Over the years, Levi has returned to Disney multiple times to reprise his role as Flynn Rider in Tangled, including in Tangled Ever After (2012), Tangled: Before Ever After (2017), the show Tangled: Short Cuts, and the series, Rapunzel’s Tangled Adventure.
Do you think Zachary Levi’s comments were accurate? Or was he being overly dramatic? Let us know in the comments!
I agree with Levi. It’s his constitutional right to speak his mind, and vote for who ever he wants. Washed up GOLDBERG should mind HER business and leave her leftist ways for the dummies on the view. And if Disney holds this against Levi, then they are not good people, just people who want to run their actors lives. Like communism.
