6. The Authenticity
Disney Imagineers designed this eatery to replicate the drive-ins of the 1940’s and 50’s. The clips projected on the screen may seem cheesy by today’s standards, but they’re taken from real sci-fi flicks of that era. The car tables also add to the magic. They’re made of chrome plating and fiberglass to give the restaurant a stylized and unique vibe. A cyclorama of Southern California is displayed on the surrounding wall to add dimension and give the venue authenticity.
5. Great Service
The speedy service here is a major draw for guests. Food is typically served five to ten minutes after ordering. It’s like any other fast food eatery in terms of time and efficiency, but the overall experience here is unmatched. The servers, also known as carhops, improvise and skate through the theater from time to time.
4. The Décor
Everything here looks like it was taken directly from the 1950’s. The cars, the ceiling art, and everything else you may not notice are strategically designed to fit this unique theme. Even the entrance looks like a box office! As you sit in your car you’ll notice stars twinkling above you as palm trees line the perimeter of the theater. You’ll feel like you’re at an old California drive-in!
