If you’re a true Disney fan, you must set sail on a Disney Cruise at least once in your life! Once you embark, you’re guaranteed the finest service and amenities. Simply put- it’s the best around!

I was a little skeptical when we boarded our first cruise, thinking I’d disembark a few days later tired and ready for the routine of home.  Boy was I wrong.  Once you board a Disney Cruise ship all the travails of transportation, planning, packing, keeping track of the kids is over.  In fact, the childcare alone on Disney ships is epic and will have your offspring begging to be dropped off to play while you lie by the adults-only pool.  Each evening at dinner my 11 year old ate in a hurry so she could go back to the pre-teen area for a dance-off or other supervised activity.  Don’t get me wrong, I love visiting Disney parks but they’re not exactly relaxing.  A Disney cruise however is all the magic of the parks with none of the exhaustion! In addition to the above, here are 10 reasons why a Disney Cruise is totally worth your money.  Read on for the full skinny!

1. The FOOD!

If you’re craving something sweet or savory at any point throughout the day, head over to Cabanas. This all-you-care-to-eat buffet serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. There are a variety of food stations here, which can accommodate all tastes. Most of the food here is made-to-order, which is convenient for all types of guests. The food here is delicious and there’s certainly no shortage!

2. Spacious Staterooms

Most cruise lines are known for having small staterooms, but not Disney! A standard room has plenty of amenities which include wave phones, an in-room safe, a TV, and plenty of space, just to name a few. You will never feel cramped in this space. Guests can also request a suite with a verandah overlooking the beautiful ocean. The subtle nautical Disney theme make the rooms feel like a home away from home.

You don’t have to travel all the way to New York City to see amazing Broadway shows. Each Disney Cruise has its own variety of original shows with catchy songs, skilled performers, and elaborate set design. Show times vary each day, but there are multiple performances of each one, so chances are you won’t miss out. Each one is as enjoyable as the next and geared towards families.

4. Bars and Lounges

The adult only zones have plenty of neat bars and lounges worth checking out. Each one has a unique theme and ambiance. There are a few bars that even have a dance floor and live entertainment each night. They’re typically open late, so if you’re looking for a fun way to cap off the night, swing by!

5. International Ports

The Disney Cruise Line travels all over the world. Whether you’re looking for a Mediterranean adventure, a tropical getaway, or exotic excursions, you’ll be able to find what you’re looking for. Canada, Europe, Mexico, and Alaska are just a few destinations you can choose from. The itineraries change each year and Disney always has fun adventures in store for its guests.

6. Food and Beverage Stations

You’ll really get your money’s worth when it comes to dining on a Disney Cruise. There are many self-serve beverage stations and quick-service eateries onboard each ship. Counter-service spots also offer a variety of delicious fare: pizza, hamburgers, wraps, and salads are just a few things you can find. Note that room service and beverage stations are open 24/7!

7. Deck Parties

The first deck party that guests can enjoy after embarking on the ship is the Sailing Away Celebration. Head over to the main deck just before the ship leaves port for a spectacular celebration! Mickey and his pals lead everyone into song and dance to kick off the beginning of your voyage on the high seas! This is one of the many deck parties you can look forward to while aboard.

8. Themed Restaurants

Dining arrangements rotate each night, which means that you’ll have the opportunity to eat at every restaurant onboard at least once. You’ll be given a ticket with all of your dining details upon arrival. Each restaurant is truly unique and embraces the spirit of Disney. Animator’s Palate is a signature restaurant on all Disney Cruise Lines and is dedicated to those who enjoy classic Disney films. Each eatery onboard is full of surprises and you’ll get to experience all of them!

9. Spa Treatments

Spa

If you’re looking for some rest, relaxation, and pampering, Senses Spa is the place to be. There are treatments here for everyone and plenty of them. Massages, facials, and hair treatments are just a few you’ll find here. The spa is open all day, but appointments book up fast, so make reservations long in advance.

10. Children and Teen Clubs

The Oceaneer Club and Lab are geared towards guests between the ages of 3 and 12. Here young ones can participate in youth activities and games, while under supervision. Each child will also receive an Oceaneer band for added security. Teens also have their own club called Vibe, which has plenty of games, dance parties, music, and more.

Cruising with Disney is an experience unlike anything else. Guests are provided with great amenities and services that transcend all expectations. Disney ships travel all over the world, taking you to some of the most desirable places. Doing Disney on the high seas is an experience of a lifetime and a great way to bring families and loved ones together.
