5 Reasons You Should Take An Adult’s Only Trip to Walt Disney World At Least Once

Cinderella's Castle

Visiting the happiest place on earth with your children will always put a smile on your face. Watching them experience the magic is a unique feeling, so it’s no wonder that families love visiting together. Sometimes, however, parents and adults often need some time away from the little ones. If you can manage it, planning a trip for adults only to Walt Disney World is a great way to relax and enjoy time away from your everyday hustle. Here are five reasons you should take an adults only trip to Walt Disney World at least once.

5. No Need To Prep So Much

Typically, parents or families with children have lots of preparing to do when taking a trip to Disney with kids. Not only do you need to worry about packing all of your kiddies essentials, your itinerary is going to be geared towards preparing reservations and experiences based on their needs and wants. When you travel with just adults, there is no need to worry about the extra bags or planning activities that are geared more for children.

4. Check Out Adult Experiences

Speaking of activities, did you know that there are a myriad of activities just for adults at the happiest place on earth? You may not know about adult experiences if you bypass them when you travel with the little ones, or you may not even bother looking them up and tempting yourself if you can’t experience it on your visit. When you plan an adult’s only trip, you have all the time you want to be able to check out these cool attractions, events, and rides. For example, you can ride more thrill rides, have a romantic dinner at one of Disney’s many high-end restaurants, take a nice relaxing boat ride on the Seven Seas Lagoon, dance at the Atlantic Dance Company club, enjoy the Jellyrolls Piano Bar at the Boardwalk, check out the bars at Disney Springs, the list goes on and on. Another great event to enjoy is Epcot’s annual Food and Wine Festival. Kids can sample many of the foods here, but it can be extremely costly, and in my opinion, sampling the drinks and foods from each country is more fun with adults only.

3. Me-Time

Everyone needs a little time away from kids. We love them, but sometimes, a little me-time allows us to recharge our batteries and refresh our minds. Whether you’re going solo, with your significant other, on a double date vacation, or hanging out with a bunch of adults, your me-time at Walt Disney World is guaranteed to put that smile on your face the whole time you’re on your vacation. There is no better place to unwind, relax, and not worry about anything other than your trip! You may be only a phone call away from checking up on the little ones, but you are miles away to where you can enjoy yourself and totally disconnect from your everyday routine.

2. Save Money

It’s obvious that the more people we travel with the more expensive our vacation becomes. Kids may have cheaper pricing with park tickets and dining, but they can also be the reason you spend more on a trip. Souvenirs, clothing, children experiences (i.e.- Bibbbidi Bobbidi Boutique) photos, snacks, and many other things can easily make you go over budget anywhere, but more so at Disney. Going with adults can be just as costly (if you decide to spend more money on dining, drinks, a more deluxe resort, or more experiences), but if you budget yourself, there is a chance you can actually save money.

1. Bonding

It is so easy to lose sight of the fact that you haven’t spent much time with your significant other due to the ins and outs of your kid’s everyday lives. School and afterschool activities can get in the way of taking the time to hang out and bond with your honey. Checking out Disney with just your sweetie or with adult friends will allow you to bond and fill the gaps that you’ve had with each other.

Natalie is an elementary school teacher and a native Floridian who lives and breathes all things Disney. Her love for Disney started at the age of two during her first visit, and has continued to flourish into her adult life. She loves to share her Disney passion with her students and believes Disney is so special because there is no other place to forget about your worries and be a kid again, which is why she refuses to ‘grow up’.
