It’s ‘626’ Day! Disney Parks Celebrate Stitch With Limited-Time Treats and Digital Fun

Dr. Jumba Jookiba’s 626th experiment is taking over the internet—and Disney Parks.

Sentenced to life imprisonment on a desert asteroid after being created to cause mayhem in the galaxy, Experiment 626 landed on the scenic island of Kauai instead. Reluctantly befriending an adorable girl named Lilo, 626 earned a new name: Stitch.

In 2002, Lilo & Stitch highlighted the true meaning of “ohana,” and the breakout star had an impact that was out of this world. With a cult following that inspired the upcoming Lilo & Stitch live-action remake headed to theaters in 2024, Stitch has become a fan favorite in the Parks. In honor of 6/26 being International Stitch Day, it’s time to put Stitch on a pedestal and celebrate the loyal, lovable alien.

‘626’ Day Treats

On a day commemorating a famous Disney character who loves coconut cake and coffee, it’s only appropriate for the Disney World Resort to roll out limited-time treats in the Parks and Resorts. The futuristic dining spot in Tomorrowland, Cosmic Rays Starlight Café, kicks it off with a delectable Stitch-themed Blueberry Lemonade Mousse featuring Blueberry ice cream mousse, lemonade-blueberry caramel, vanilla cake, and blue pineapple glaze.

Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort has aptly been a Stitch hub for years, and the Resort is serving Stitch on a platter at Capt. Cook’s and Kona Island Coffee Bar and Pineapple Lanai.

First up is the Stitch Dome Cake at Capt. Cook’s and Kona Island Coffee Bar with confetti cake, mint-chocolate chip mousse, and fondant. Guests can also snag an Experiment 626 at Pineapple Lanai, which features cotton candy soft serve with white chocolate Stitch ears.
