The holiday season is in full swing at the Walt Disney World Resort, and one of our favorite things to do this time of year is to explore all of the resorts and check out their decorations! Along with Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa, which displays a life-sized gingerbread house during the holiday season, Disney's Beach Club Resort has an extensive gingerbread display of its own, featuring a full sized, moving, carousel!
The gingerbread carousel at Disney's Beach Club Resort is on display now through January 2, 2022, so if you are visiting the Walt Disney World Resort between now and the new year, be sure to head over to the Beach Club to check it out! (The hotel is just a short walk or boat ride from EPCOT's World Showcase making it an easy visit to squeeze into a day in EPCOT.)
Just like the gingerbread house at the Grand Floridian, this year's gingerbread carousel at Disney's Beach Club Resort has been enhanced with special EARidescent touches just for the 50th anniversary of the Walt Disney World Resort.
The theme of the gingerbread carousel changes annually, and this year's theme is inspired by Disney's The Little Mermaid (1989). The talented team of Cast Members in the Beach Club's pastry department worked to create five incredibly details horses for the carousel all showcasing some of their favorite Disney animated characters from the film.
Pastry Chef Assistant Jesse Rodriguez told the Disney Parks Blog, “The gingerbread display is a team effort. We all pitch ideas and add our own elements and talents to create something special for our guests. We have so much fun and see first-hand how much the guests enjoy what we we’ve created.”
