Disneyland Paris Looks to Adopt Nation’s ‘Vaccine Pass’ Policy

Just two months before its 30th Anniversary Celebration, The Disneyland Paris Resort announced its intention to follow new health and safety policies enacted by France’s national government. Soon, all Guests ages 16 and older might have to provide a “Vaccine Pass” in order to experience Disney Magic on top of–or, replacing–the “Health Pass” already in effect. However, the exact date of when these new measures will be enforced is still yet to be announced.

According to their website, Disney’s European Resort states:

The French Government has announced the upcoming launch of a Vaccine Pass for all people aged 16 years old and above to access leisure activities. Disneyland Paris will follow government requirements accordingly, however, the exact date and rules for implementation are pending official publication of the law and its implementation decree(s)

A Health Pass currently remains required for any guests aged above 12 years and 2 months in order to visit the Disney Parks, the Disney Hotels and Disney Village.

To receive a health pass, Guests must verify one of three options:

• “Full Vaccination” as currently defined by French Authorities.
• Receiving a Negative PCR or Antigen test within 24 hours.
• A “recovery certificate” for those who have had COVID-19.

As of January 15, the qualifications of a health pass changed for those recognized as “fully vaccinated.” People must now receive a booster within seven months of receiving their final vaccination injection.

Unvaccinated Guests Can Still Visit Disneyland Paris

For those Guests who have freely chosen, for whatever reason they see valid, to remain unvaccinated or have not yet reached what is currently recognized as “full vaccination” status, access to Disneyland Park, Walt Disney Studios Park, Disney Village, and the rest of the property like the Disneyland Hotel is still possible for now.

Disneyland Paris states:

If you have not completed an entire vaccination schedule, you can access Disneyland Paris upon presentation of one of the following two requirements:
– Negative RT-PCR or Antigen test, taken within the last 24 hours;
– OR for persons who have had COVID-19: the result of a positive RT-PCR or Antigen test, attesting that the individual has been infected, and that a period of time of at least 11 days and less than 6 months has passed since the test result was obtained (considered as a recovery certificate).
Guests are being asked to carry with them valid proof of identity should there be spot checks by the police to verify the name on their Health Pass.

According to france24.com, the Vaccine Pass, once enforced, will be required to enter all public places such as restaurants, movie theaters, and long-distance trains.

French President Emmanuel Macron was reported telling the newspaper Le Parisien, “he wanted to ‘piss off’ unvaccinated people by making their lives so complicated they would end up getting the COVID vaccine.”

At the moment of this article’s publication, only time will tell if Disneyland Paris will ban all unvaccinated or not-fully-vaccinated Guests from its parks, and how this will further affect Guests who are not EU Citizens. This news also follows the extended reclosure of Hong Kong Disneyland and the further enforcement of vaccination requirements on Disney Cruise Line despite CDC regulations expiring. 

Disneyland Paris’ 30th Anniversary Celebration is still set to begin on March 6, 2022.
