Pinnochio, one of Disney's first animated classics, taught children the consequences of lying. It seems that some Disney Guests did not take that lesson to heart. Recently, a fibbing audience member was TOTALLY destroyed by Crush at the interactive Turtle Talk attraction in a popular Disney Park. Another spectator filmed the hilarious drag, which sent waves of laughter through the room. Let's explore the ocean blue and witness Crush roast this fibber in the audience.
Learning to Talk Turtle
Turtle Talk with Crush is an interactive attraction at several popular Disney theme parks that brings the beloved character from Pixar's Finding Nemo to life. Guests enter a theater where they can engage in real-time conversations with Crush, the laid-back sea turtle, thanks to innovative technology.
Through a combination of animation, voice acting, and live improvisation, Crush interacts with Guests, answering their questions, telling stories, and even engaging with individuals in the audience. This often hilarious experience allows visitors to have an actual conversation with a Disney character and create memorable stories to take forever. Through the amazing technology of the hydrophone, he can communicate directly with land-based dudes and dudettes about almost anything on their minds.
The magic of the experience is that the attraction is never the same. You can sit in the audience multiple times and get an entirely new encounter with every visit. Children soak up the moment because it is one of the few instances where they can laugh with a Finding Nemo character and have him respond in kind. The venue can be found at Walt Disney World, Disneyland Resort, Tokyo DisneySea, and even on certain Disney Cruise Line ships.
“Don't Lie Like Lonnie”
At one recent Turtle Talk experience at Disneyland Resort's California Adventure Park, one Guest could not help but steer the chill turtle in the wrong direction. A video uploaded by user @marygopark captures the scene. When asked to identify a giant foam hand for Crush, she instead tells him that it is a necklace meant to be consumed. Crush has suspicions but goes along with it until the children in the audience intervene. In doing so, Lonnie's lie is revealed, and this is where the fun begins.
Crush spends the rest of the encounter teasing Lonnie at every chance. It starts innocently enough, with him calling her out. He then makes a choice dig at her. “I don't know if I believe you about those multiple dudes and dudettes, bro,” he exclaims before leaving the scene as everyone laughs.

Later, Bailey the Baluga from Finding Dory joins the experience. Crush jabs at Lonnie again when Bailey calls out the humans for looking funny. Bailey then uses his echolocation to try and locate something, which causes Crush to wonder if it is Lonnie's missing truth-telling ability.
Crush leaves the audience with a very important word of advice – don't lie like Lonnie. The audience erupts in laughter, and the talkative turtle has officially slain Lonnie.
The experience was innocent enough, and the children loved it. Hopefully, Lonnie's sense of humor is as good as her ability to lie to Crush!
