Disney World Sells Out Again as Guests Continue To Spend Big Bucks in Florida

The spooky season is almost here, and Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is ready to cast its festive spell once again over Magic Kingdom. Kicking off August 15 and continuing on select evenings through October 31, the popular event is returning with fan-favorite entertainment, rare character sightings, and sweet surprises—all wrapped in Halloween fun only Disney can deliver.

This year, party nights typically fall on Fridays, Sundays, and Tuesdays, with Thursdays joining the lineup starting September 25. Ticket prices vary by date, with early August evenings starting at $119 and rising to $229 closer to Halloween night. Annual Passholders can take advantage of a $10 discount on select August and September dates.

The response from guests has been swift—October 31, the event’s most expensive night, was the first to sell out. That was quickly followed by August 19, and now August 17 has joined the list. Interestingly, August 17 is also one of the lower-priced dates at $119, reflecting strong early demand. For reference, every night sold out last year by September 24.

Once inside, guests can enter the park as early as 4 p.m. with their party ticket, even though official festivities don’t begin until 7 p.m. It’s the perfect opportunity to enjoy some favorite attractions before the spooky fun takes over.

The entertainment lineup is back. The Boo-To-You Halloween Parade returns with dancing ghouls, classic Disney friends, and of course, a dramatic entrance by the Headless Horseman. Over at Cinderella Castle, the Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular continues to enchant with the Sanderson Sisters causing mayhem alongside a host of Disney villains.

Don’t miss Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular, the fireworks and projection show hosted by Jack Skellington. This year, Jack and Sally are debuting new costume designs inspired by their original 1993 film, The Nightmare Before Christmas, making their meet-and-greet one of the most anticipated moments of the night.

Guests looking to take home unique keepsakes will want to visit Disney PhotoPass locations throughout the park. Magic Shots, Halloween-themed props, and special effects exclusive to the event will help you capture memories you won’t find during daytime visits. If you’ve purchased Memory Maker or linked PhotoPass to your account, this is a great way to make the most of your visit.

Costumes are part of the fun too. Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is one of the few times adults are invited to don full costumes in the parks, and fans show up in elaborate and creative looks—many inspired by favorite Disney stories. Be sure to review Disney’s costume guidelines ahead of time to ensure a magical and safe experience for all.

Even Disney characters get in on the dress-up fun. From Mickey and Minnie in seasonal outfits to rare appearances by fan favorites like the Seven Dwarfs, the character meet-and-greet opportunities are plentiful and unforgettable.

Whether you’re visiting for the festive entertainment, the unique treats, or just to see Magic Kingdom transformed for the season, Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party continues to be a beloved fall tradition. With three nights already sold out, fans eager to join the celebration should act quickly—before this year’s calendar disappears like a ghost in the night.

Thomas Hitchen

When he’s not thinking about the Magic Kingdom, Thomas is usually reading a book, becoming desperately obsessed with fictional characters, or baking something delicious (his favorite is chocolate cake -- to bake and to eat). He's a dreamer and grew up on Mulan saving the world, Jim Hawkins soaring through the stars, and Padmé Amidala fighting a Nexu. At the Parks, he loves to ride Everest, stroll down Main Street with an overstuffed pin lanyard around his neck, and eat as many Mickey-shaped ice creams as possible. His favorite character is Han Solo (yes, he did shoot first), and his favorite TV show is Buffy the Vampire Slayer except when it's One Tree Hill. He loves sandy beach walks, forest hikes, and foodie days out in the Big City. Thomas lives in England, UK, with his fiancée, baby, and their dog, a Border Collie called Luna.
