Guests Are Buying a “Lightning Lane” To Get To The Disney Parks Faster

Long bus lines, standing-room-only rides, and time-consuming resort transfers—Disney transportation can be a real patience tester. But now, guests are finding a faster way to get around, and it feels a lot like Lightning Lane for rides.

Instead of waiting in a crowd, guests can book a Minnie Van, Disney’s own private ride service operated in partnership with Lyft. It’s door-to-door convenience with the Disney touch, and it’s becoming a go-to option for families who want to cut down on transit time.

A More Comfortable Commute

Minnie Vans are spacious SUVs or vans that hold up to six passengers and come with two car seats ready to go. That makes them ideal for families with little ones or those carrying strollers and bags. The driver, always a Disney Cast Member, picks you up right where you are and takes you directly to your destination—no extra stops, no detours.

One of the biggest perks? Minnie Vans can drop you off steps away from Magic Kingdom’s entrance, while other rideshares have to stop at the Transportation and Ticket Center.

Perfect for Hard-to-Reach Spots

They’ll take you just about anywhere on Disney property, including all four parks, water parks, resort hotels, and Disney Springs. If you’ve ever tried to get from one resort to another using Disney’s complimentary buses, you know it can easily take over an hour. Minnie Vans can do it in 15 minutes or less.

The Price vs. Lightning Lane

Most rides cost between $30 and $70 depending on the trip. Compared to the $72–$80 a family of four might spend on Lightning Lane Multi Passes for just one day, a Minnie Van can be the cheaper option—especially if you use it only when you really need to skip a line.

A Strategic Upgrade

Guests are using Minnie Vans for those peak congestion moments: after nighttime shows, before early park reservations, or during bad weather. Like Lightning Lane for attractions, it’s not something most people will use for every trip—but for the right moment, it can be a game-changer.

Andrew Boardwine

A frequent visitor of Walt Disney World Resort and Universal Orlando Resort, Andrew will likely be found freefalling on Twilight Zone Tower of Terror or enjoying Pirates of the Caribbean. Over at Universal, he'll be taking in the thrills of the Jurassic World Velocicoaster and Revenge of the Mummy
