Spring break has arrived at the Walt Disney World Resort, and with it are long lines to hop on the bus at Disney resorts. TikTok user, @pixiedustbrmstxandbeyond recently recorded a look at the line ahead of them while waiting to head to Magic Kingdom Park from Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, and this line may have you getting ready to rent a car if you are visiting the parks this month:

As you can see in the video above, the line to get onto the next Magic Kingdom bus spills out of the allotted queue at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort and wraps around causing Guests to find disappointment in how long it might take for them to get onto the bus and reach the park.
While buses at the Walt Disney World Resort usually do come quick, and Cast Members are sometimes able to move things around to reroute buses to those resorts that need them most at a given time, the parks are very crowded right now and you might be in for long lines no matter what happens.
With Disney Park Pass reservation availability dwindling away, and fully booked restaurants, plus crowds all around each Walt Disney World theme park, lines like this one may just be part of the experience if you are traveling during spring break. There is one possible solution, however, and you may have wondered about this one yourself- Should you rent a car at Walt Disney World?
This is a difficult question to answer, but driving your own vehicle and leaving for the next park exactly when you want to with no lines definitely seems appealing during spring break. Renting a car comes with its own challenges, however, especially as of late with gas prices continuing to rise.
If you decide to rent a car, be sure to keep in mind the higher gas prices (and remember to fill the tank before returning the car), and to factor in the cost of parking at Disney theme parks, which you would be avoiding by taking the bus.
The car shortage that has been affecting both rental car availability and the sale of new cars since the COVID-19 pandemic began is also still recovering, so to ensure you actually get the car you reserve, you’ll want to book a reservation in advance at the Orlando International Airport for when you arrive. Other branches outside of the airport may offer cheaper rates, but if the area runs out of cars, those branches would be the first to do so.
If bringing a car is out of the question, the best way to avoid long bus lines like this one is simply to leave early for the parks. You will still find long lines early in the morning during spring break, but if you leave your resort before the park opens, you shouldn’t miss any time in the park due to the long lines, you’ll just need to get up a little earlier to make it happen!
