A new Lightning Lane update is arriving at Walt Disney World Resort, and it’s happening sooner than you think. Starting this week, guests visiting Disney’s Hollywood Studios will see a shift in how they can use Lightning Lane Multi Pass (LLMP).

In May, The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure debuted in Animation Courtyard, bringing a refreshed version of the classic Voyage of the Little Mermaid stage show back to life. This new experience features upgraded puppetry, dazzling special effects, and live performances designed to transport audiences “Under the Sea.”
However, access was limited to a standby queue for the first few months. Disney Park guests could wait up to half an hour for a seat, sometimes with less-than-ideal views. That changes on September 11, when The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure officially becomes part of Lightning Lane Multi Pass at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
The musical will be available as a Tier 2 selection, meaning guests can book it in advance along with another Tier 2 option. With this week’s update, The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure joins Tier 2 alongside Alien Swirling Saucers, Beauty and the Beast — Live on Stage, For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration, Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular, Star Tours, The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, and Toy Story Mania!.

Tier 1 LLMP attractions at Disney’s Hollywood Studios include Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, Rock’ n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith, and Slinky Dog Dash. Walt Disney World Resort guests can only reserve one of these through advance booking.
Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance remains available only as a separate Lightning Lane Single Pass purchase. Fantasmic! priority seating is usually tied to dining packages rather than Lightning Lane.
