Is Splash Mountain Returning to Disney? Fans Spot Clues About Possible Revival

Fans of Disney's theme parks are stirring with excitement and curiosity as new clues have emerged, hinting at the potential return of the iconic—but controversial—Splash Mountain attraction. Removed from the parks in recent years due to its ties to the film Song of the South, the ride has remained absent despite the overwhelming nostalgia it holds for many fans. Now, with some subtle references popping up, there’s renewed speculation that the popular log-flume ride might be making a comeback, though the company’s stance remains unclear.

Is This A Hint?

A Disney fan on X sparked the latest round of chatter when they shared a series of observations that could suggest Splash Mountain’s return. “Let’s see here:

  • Splash Mountain merch is allowed back at Disney offices
  • Splash props are on display at WDI
  • Splash concept art was featured in the new Walt show
  • Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah was featured in a brand new piece of official merchandise
    Dare I say, comeback tour?”

These findings have lit up social media, with fans dissecting each clue for meaning. From the resurgence of Splash Mountain-themed items to the presence of props and concept art, many are asking: Could Disney be subtly preparing the return of Splash Mountain? The mounting excitement centers on the possibility of the ride either returning in its original form or receiving a reimagining for today’s Disney audiences.

Is Disney Moving Backward?

Despite the enthusiasm, not all Disney fans are on board with the idea of bringing Splash Mountain back, especially in its previous incarnation. Some critics point to the ride’s problematic ties to Song of the South, a film with controversial themes that Disney has distanced itself from in recent years. As the company continues its efforts to update its park experiences to be more culturally sensitive, some believe that reviving Splash Mountain in its original form would be inconsistent with Disney's current values.

While some fans eagerly hope for a Splash Mountain revival, whether that means a return of the ride in its current state or a new version with a different storyline remains uncertain. For now, the presence of Splash Mountain references, including props and song inclusions in recent official merchandise, has only intensified the conversation. Disney fans are watching closely, analyzing every piece of merchandise and every passing reference to determine if this is truly a “tease” of things to come—or simply a nostalgic nod from the company.

As of now, Disney has not provided an official statement regarding the fate of Splash Mountain. The ongoing discussion highlights the tension between fan nostalgia, the company's shifting cultural stance, and the deep impact that certain attractions have left on Disney’s theme park legacy. Whether Splash Mountain will return in some form or be replaced with something entirely new, one thing is certain: the debate over this beloved ride is far from over.

  1. The movie Song of the South was a classic and would have stayed classic had not the woke little libtards started crying about racial this and racial that, it should have been viewed in the manner of the time period and not through the Lense of outrage. People need to stand up against all those who want to go back and change our combined history, don’t try to destroy the history and pretend it didn’t happen, those things happened we need to learn from them and never make those mistakes again, Its time Disney stood up against those few loud mouth haters and go back to its origional conception Walt invisioned.
