Beloved Disney Parade Retired, Here’s What Comes Next

Every year, Disney’s theme parks transform into festive playgrounds, drawing millions of visitors eager to experience the holidays in a way only Disney can deliver.

In Florida, EPCOT stages the celebrity-narrated Candlelight Processional, while Magic Kingdom offers Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party — complete with fireworks, parades, and exclusive holiday treats. At Disneyland in Anaheim, snowfall drifts over Main Street, U.S.A., and Haunted Mansion becomes Haunted Mansion Holiday. Disney California Adventure also shines with its Festival of Holidays, a multicultural celebration that mixes food, music, and live entertainment.

Asia’s parks have their own traditions. Hong Kong Disneyland presents a holiday celebration that peaks in a spectacularly snowy World of Frozen, while Shanghai Disney Resort rolls out performances and seasonal food offerings. The same is true of Tokyo Disney Resort – although this year's holiday season will look a bit different than usual.

A Decade-Long Parade Bows Out

For ten years, the Disney Christmas Stories Parade served as the anchor of Tokyo Disneyland’s winter season. Guests lined the parade route to see Disney characters in festive costumes aboard elaborately themed floats. That run ended in 2024, closing a chapter in the park’s holiday history.

The resort has now confirmed the parade’s replacement. Beginning November 11, 2025, and running through December 25, a brand-new production titled Toys Wondrous Christmas will debut.

JAL Sponsors the Parade for the 7th Time! Tokyo Disneyland “Toys Wonderful Christmas!” The main artwork featuring Pete in a Christmas-colored costume, in addition to Mickey and Minnie, has been unveiled☆

“Santa Claus and the elves have been busy at the toy factory, getting toys ready for the children who sent in Christmas letters,” Tokyo Disney Resort says on its website. “Now, fresh from the factory, the toys join Mickey Mouse and his friends for a fun-filled and magical parade.”

Concept art highlights colorful floats adorned with teddy bears, Mickey and Minnie in holiday attire, and Pete in a Christmas-colored costume. Music and performances will tie the scenes together, continuing the park’s tradition of highly choreographed, visually striking holiday entertainment.

Backed by Partnerships, Framed by Tradition

The new parade is presented with sponsorship from Japan Airlines Co., Ltd. (JAL) and Oriental Land Co., Ltd., the company that owns and operates Tokyo Disney Resort under license from Disney, similar to the way Miral plans to operate Disneyland Abu Dhabi. JAL’s support marks its seventh parade sponsorship at the resort. The airline also maintains a presence through the Fantasyland Forest Theater at Tokyo Disneyland and the Broadway Music Theater at Tokyo DisneySea.

Guests will also have the option to pay for premium access. Reserved parade seating will be offered at 2,500 yen (about $16.92) per person, providing guaranteed viewing through Disney’s Premier Access program.

The seasonal lineup extends beyond the parade. Starbright Christmas, a fireworks display visible from both Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea, will return. Guests can also enjoy Country Bear Theater Jingle Bell Jamboree, Haunted Mansion Holiday Nightmare, and Disney Christmas Greeting at Tokyo DisneySea’s Mediterranean Harbor.

For Tokyo Disney Resort, the unveiling of Toys Wondrous Christmas signals the beginning of a new era. It replaces a fan-favorite parade, but also underscores the resort’s dedication to evolving seasonal offerings while preserving the traditions that keep guests returning year after year.
