The Disney Store is preparing for a new milestone as Disney and Selfridges announce a collaboration that will transform the holiday season in 2025.

On November 6, 2025, “A Most Magical Christmas” will launch across Selfridges London, Manchester, and Birmingham, as well as online at Selfridges.com. Guests can expect more than 60 collaborations, 18 specially designed windows, an eye-catching façade, and two fresh takes on the classic Selfridges yellow bag, according to Disney Parks Blog.
Fans won’t have to wait until the holiday season to see the magic begin. On September 22, 2025, a dedicated Disney Store destination will open inside Selfridges London’s Corner Shop, paired with a Harry Lambert for Zara x Disney residency.
The partnership carries history. During the 1960s and 1970s, Disney characters adorned the Selfridges storefront, making this modern project a nostalgic return for the brand.

The news comes as the Disney Store continues to evolve from its earliest days. First launched at the Glendale Galleria in California on March 28, 1987, the stores offered immersive displays such as the “magic mirror” and animated features that transformed retail into a storytelling experience. By the mid-1990s, Disney Stores flourished across North America and internationally, becoming central to mall culture and branded retail.
In 2004, ownership shifted to The Children’s Place, but the stores faced challenges until Disney reacquired them in 2008. The “Imagination Park” redesign of 2010 introduced interactive spaces and large-scale video features, reimagining how Disney stories could live in retail form.

As shopping trends changed and the pandemic accelerated online growth, most standalone Disney Stores in North America and Europe closed in 2021. The company emphasized shopDisney and partnerships such as Target’s “shop-in-shop,” while maintaining flagship stores in New York and London. In 2024, the company even restored the Disney Store name to its digital platform.
Now, as Selfridges prepares to host “A Most Magical Christmas,” the Disney Store continues to blend heritage with new opportunities—ensuring its retail story remains vibrant for years to come.
