The legendary archaeologist is preparing for another chapter—though for a short time, one of his most famous adventures will go quiet.

Disneyland Resort’s Indiana Jones Adventure will close its temple gates on December 2 and December 3, according to the official schedule. Guests will have the chance to embark on the perilous expedition one last time before the closure on December 1, with the attraction set to reopen on December 4.
Guests stepping inside the crumbling Temple of the Forbidden Eye are invited to “follow Indy’s footsteps” past ancient traps and relics that tell the story of Mara, a deity promising both treasure and danger. The attraction takes explorers aboard rugged vehicles that race through the Chamber of Destiny, evading everything from molten lava and spear-throwing spirits to massive rolling boulders.

Harrison Ford’s portrayal of Indiana Jones has inspired multiple attractions around the world. Fans can experience Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril at Disneyland Paris or journey through Indiana Jones Adventure: Temple of the Crystal Skull at Tokyo DisneySea. Each brings its own version of discovery and daring inspired by Lucasfilm’s celebrated saga.
On the East Coast, even more adventure is on the horizon. Disney’s Animal Kingdom at Walt Disney World Resort will soon welcome a brand-new Indiana Jones attraction as part of the reimagining of DinoLand U.S.A. The new experience will replace DINOSAUR, which is expected to have its final ride in early 2026. Joining the expansion will be an Encanto-themed attraction, both located within the forthcoming Tropical Americas area, opening in 2027.

With each new project, Disney continues to celebrate the spirit of adventure that defines Indiana Jones. Whether uncovering the secrets of Mara in Anaheim, escaping danger in Tokyo, or soon exploring ancient wonders in Florida, fans around the world can continue to look forward to thrilling new chapters inspired by the legendary archaeologist.
