The incident was shared by TikTok user Wallandwfhatdisney, who posted a video showing a partially submerged boat in The Land Pavilion’s greenhouse section. The video’s caption read: “Current situation. Boat in front of me started to sink and all occupants had to evacuate. We ended up chilling in our boat until cast members escorted us off and out the back. And people say Living with the Land is boring!!” The clip, now viewed nearly 30,000 times, also shows the backstage areas that guests passed through as they were safely escorted out.

Cast members handled the situation efficiently, ensuring that all guests were safely removed from the ride. While unexpected, brief attraction stops or evacuations occasionally happen across major theme parks and are handled with care and safety as the top priority.

The Land sign at EPCOT

Living with the Land has been an EPCOT favorite since the park’s debut in 1982. The relaxing boat tour takes guests through a series of environments—from lush rainforests to expansive greenhouses—offering a behind-the-scenes look at how Disney horticulturists use innovative methods such as hydroponics and aquaponics to grow crops. Many of these crops are later served in popular EPCOT dining locations, including Garden Grill and Sunshine Seasons.

The attraction is also preparing for its next transformation. From November 28 through December 30, 2025, Living with the Land–Glimmering Greenhouses will debut as a limited-time offering, and the regular attraction will be unavailable during that period.

Despite occasional technical challenges, EPCOT continues to highlight Walt Disney’s vision for innovation, creativity, and sustainability. For many fans, Living with the Land remains a timeless example of how science and storytelling come together to inspire a greener tomorrow.

When he’s not thinking about the Magic Kingdom, Thomas is usually reading a book, becoming desperately obsessed with fictional characters, or baking something delicious (his favorite is chocolate cake -- to bake and to eat). He's a dreamer and grew up on Mulan saving the world, Jim Hawkins soaring through the stars, and Padmé Amidala fighting a Nexu. At the Parks, he loves to ride Everest, stroll down Main Street with an overstuffed pin lanyard around his neck, and eat as many Mickey-shaped ice creams as possible. His favorite character is Han Solo (yes, he did shoot first), and his favorite TV show is Buffy the Vampire Slayer except when it's One Tree Hill. He loves sandy beach walks, forest hikes, and foodie days out in the Big City. Thomas lives in England, UK, with his fiancée, baby, and their dog, a Border Collie called Luna.
