Toy Story Land is back in the spotlight—and not just because of its rides.
The land has always been a standout at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. It’s where guests can join Buzz, Woody, and the rest of the Toy Story crew in a backyard-sized world, complete with towering blocks, tinker toys, and candy-colored umbrellas. From the thrilling Slinky Dog Dash to the fan-favorite Toy Story Mania, it’s a place where imagination is front and center.

But now, Disney is quietly working on something new—and it involves one of the land’s most iconic dining spots.
Permit Filed for Woody’s Lunchbox Construction
Disney has filed a new permit for “general construction” at Woody’s Lunchbox, the quick-service restaurant that’s become a must-stop for many visitors. The filing, submitted by Walt Disney Imagineering, suggests that some sort of visual or structural update is planned.
Although Disney hasn’t made a formal announcement about what exactly is being worked on, the timing is interesting. A new snack kiosk is also under construction nearby, hinting that Imagineering may be rolling out a wider refresh across the land.
Cosmetic Changes Expected
Don’t expect major overhauls. According to current information, Woody’s Lunchbox will remain its same playful self, but with some improvements likely focused on the dining environment. These may include aesthetic upgrades—think new colors, updated props, or even shade enhancements—and possibly a more efficient layout for ordering and seating.
Woody’s Lunchbox has always been beloved for its clever theming and comfort food, but it’s also one of the more crowded dining spots in the park. Seating is limited and shaded spots are in high demand. These updates could go a long way in addressing those pain points.

Still Open for Business
For now, the restaurant remains fully open to guests. No closure dates or downtime have been announced, and it's possible that construction work will happen during off-hours or be contained behind the scenes. Still, if you’re visiting soon, don’t be surprised to see some barriers or construction crews in the area.
This effort to improve guest experience—without disrupting it—is something Disney has been focusing on more in recent years. It keeps the magic alive while making small but meaningful improvements.
What This Means for Toy Story Land
This update to Woody’s Lunchbox, combined with the new kiosk project, shows that Toy Story Land isn’t being left behind as Disney focuses on other expansions across the resort. In fact, the land is evolving—slowly but surely—into a more well-rounded experience.
Disney has taken steps to address common guest feedback, such as adding more shade and seating. Roundup Rodeo BBQ was one of those moves, and it looks like Woody’s Lunchbox is next in line.
While these changes may seem minor, they’re part of a larger effort to keep Toy Story Land as fun and functional as it is immersive.
