Guest Alerts Staff After Finding Bone Near Disney Park

A guest reported finding what appeared to be a bone outside Hong Kong Disneyland Resort this week, prompting concern online and a response from park staff.

The discovery was shared on social media and quickly drew debate over whether the object could be human remains.

Disney parks are generally associated with strict safety procedures and routine inspections. Incidents outside park boundaries, however, occasionally surface and circulate online.

This case began with a routine evening walk.

Guest Says Dog Unearthed Bone Near Resort

According to a post on Threads, a dog owner was walking her Border Collie near the resort at night when the dog ran into nearby grass and began digging.

The owner said the dog dropped its toy ball and uncovered a white object that resembled a bone.

She notified park staff and later posted photos asking others to help identify it.

Images shared online led to mixed reactions. Some users described the object as disturbing, while others questioned whether it could be human.

ā€œHuman bones are normally more yellowish,ā€ one commenter said (via Hong Kong 01), noting that real bone typically shows signs of weathering and erosion in outdoor environments.

The bone was reportedly located under a stone embankment on the outskirts of the park and partially covered in dirt.

The guest described being frightened by the find, writing she was ā€œso scared that my heart almost jumped out of her chest.ā€

Park staff told her that people sometimes scatter animal ashes near the resort, believing their loved ones will reunite ā€œin this happy place,ā€ and suggested the object could be animal bone.

She then asked, ā€œCan anyone tell me if this is a human bone or an animal bone?ā€

Some commenters said dogs are often drawn to organic material. Others tagged a forensic expert, who reportedly indicated the remains were unlikely to be human.

No official determination has been publicly announced.

Prior Incidents Near the Area

The post follows several unrelated incidents reported near the resort in recent years.

In August 2025, a 53-year-old Filipino tourist collapsed while riding Frozen Ever After inside World of Frozen.

Emergency responders performed CPR and transported him to North Lantau Hospital.

He later died after a medical episode linked to pre-existing conditions. The park said the incident was not related to ride safety.

Authorities have also investigated incidents outside the park itself.

Police previously responded to the discovery of a burned body at Inspiration Lake Recreation Centre, located near the resort and its hotels.

Preliminary reports identified the deceased as a 31-year-old man from mainland China who appeared to have entered the area alone and was suspected to have taken his own life.

Those cases were not connected to park operations.
