Disney Reveals Closure of Popular DVC Resort Location

Another Walt Disney World dining staple is heading behind construction walls next year.

The Turf Club Bar and Grill at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa will close in 2026 for an extended refurbishment that stretches into mid-September 2026. The closure also encompasses the neighboring Turf Club Lounge, temporarily sidelining one of the resort’s defining culinary spaces in the Disney Springs resort area.

Disney has confirmed the renovation window but has yet to reveal what the project will involve. There has been no announcement regarding décor overhauls, layout changes, or menu revisions. Still, given Disney’s recent updates to other resort venues, it would not be surprising if the work enhances comfort and visual cohesion while keeping the restaurant’s horse-racing theme intact.

Rather than shutting everything down at once, Disney will rotate closures to maintain limited operations throughout the construction period. As WDWMagic explains:

“Early April through early August: The Turf Club Lounge closes. The Turf Club Bar & Grill stays open with a pop-up bar and modified menu.

Early to mid-August: The Turf Club patio closes.

Mid-August through mid-September: The Turf Club Bar & Grill closes. The Turf Club Lounge reopens and remains open.”

Other outlets have corroborated that the refurbishment will follow this phased timeline.

Since its opening, The Turf Club has functioned as Saratoga Springs’ primary table-service offering, drawing guests with golf course views and a menu built around elevated American classics. Steaks, sustainable seafood, pasta dishes, and comfort-forward entrées anchor the lineup.

Signature items such as filet mignon, prime rib, and crab cakes have made the restaurant a repeat stop for many visitors, while the Lounge’s cocktail program and wine list offer a relaxed evening option away from the theme park crowds. For Disney Vacation Club members in particular, The Turf Club has often served as a dependable dining choice without the intensity found at more high-profile Walt Disney World restaurants.

The timing of the refurbishment could affect a sizable number of guests. Saratoga Springs is one of the largest resorts on the property, composed of multiple themed sections inspired by a late-19th-century upstate New York racing getaway. The Victorian design details, shaded walkways, and easy access to Disney Springs by foot or boat help distinguish it within the broader Walt Disney World portfolio.

Although The Artist’s Palette will continue to provide quick-service meals and Disney Springs remains within close reach, the absence of a full-service restaurant on-site for part of the refurbishment window reduces dining convenience for those hoping to stay close to their accommodations.

Opened in 2004 as a Disney Vacation Club property, Saratoga Springs has seen ongoing room updates over the years to keep its interiors current while retaining subtle references to its equestrian roots. The Turf Club’s refurbishment appears to be part of that same long-term strategy: refreshing core amenities to ensure the resort keeps pace with shifting guest expectations.

At present, Disney anticipates reopening both The Turf Club Bar and Grill and the Turf Club Lounge in the late summer to early fall timeframe. Until more specifics emerge, the scope of the renovation remains unknown. Still, the extended schedule suggests more than a minor touch-up, positioning the restaurant for its next chapter within the ever-evolving Walt Disney World dining landscape.
