A small but noticeable update has arrived for one of Magic Kingdom’s most playful activities.
Guests visiting Storybook Circus can still participate in the “Smellephants on Parade” scavenger hunt, but the map used for the experience has been slightly modified. The change reflects ongoing construction work in the Fantasyland area.

Although the activity itself hasn’t disappeared, guests now have fewer elephant statues to track down.
Smellephants on Parade debuted in 2024 as a free interactive game for visitors exploring Storybook Circus. Instead of waiting in line for an attraction, families can pick up a map and set off on a mini adventure around the land.
Cast Members distribute the activity maps and sticker sheets near the entrance of Storybook Circus. Guests then search the area for decorative elephant statues placed throughout the environment.
Each elephant represents a different scent, themed around carnival-style snacks and desserts. When guests find one of the statues, they place the matching sticker on their map.

After finding every location, guests can return their completed map to receive a “Whiff-sistant” sticker prize.
Because of construction in the area, the game recently became a little shorter.
Two of the elephant statues are currently blocked behind construction walls near Big Top Souvenirs. Since guests cannot access those locations right now, Disney updated the activity map to remove them from the hunt.
Instead of searching for eight elephants, guests now only need to find six.
The missing statues represent the caramel apple and cotton candy scents. Both are located in front of Big Top Souvenirs, which is partially closed off while refurbishment work continues nearby.
Rather than pause the scavenger hunt entirely, Disney opted to update the map so the activity could continue uninterrupted.
The construction affecting the scavenger hunt ties back to refurbishment work at Pete’s Silly Sideshow. The circus-themed building, which previously hosted several character meet-and-greets, closed earlier this year.

Before the closure, parts of the tent structure had begun to show wear, particularly the outer fabric covering sections of the building. Crews have since removed portions of the tent roof as work continues on the structure.
Disney has not announced an official reopening date for the location.
While Pete’s Silly Sideshow remains closed, guests can still meet the characters who previously appeared inside the building. Donald Duck, Goofy, Minnie Mouse, and Daisy Duck now greet visitors in outdoor areas around Storybook Circus.
Guests can check the My Disney Experience app for current meet-and-greet locations.
Despite the construction walls and shifting locations, the Smellephants scavenger hunt continues to provide a fun activity for families exploring Fantasyland.

Visitors still receive the same style map and sticker sheet. The only difference is that the game currently includes fewer elephants to find.
Once construction wraps up and blocked areas reopen, it’s possible the missing statues will return to the map.
For now, guests exploring Storybook Circus will simply complete the hunt a little faster.
