Smell That? Disney Invades Guests’ Senses on Whole New Level

Some Disney Park Guests have said that they find Disney World or Disneyland experiences to be overwhelming and overstimulating — which actually drives some Guests to tears, according to this upset Space Mountain passenger — but Disney has just added a new form of sensory stimulation into the theme park mix!

Disney has recently revealed plans for a “search and sniff adventure” in the Magic Kingdom, not unlike the scratch-and-sniff perfume ads from magazines!

“Search and Sniff”

“There’s a new interactive experience coming to Magic Kingdom!” Disney announced in the Tweet shown below. “‘Smellephants on Parade’ will be a family-friendly ‘search and sniff’ adventure in Storybook Circus.”

This adventure is part of Disney’s collaboration with the fragrance company called Scentsy, which is “the Official Home Fragrance of” Walt Disney World Resort.

More “Relephant” Details to Come

Disney ended the announcement with a perky pun, telling Disney World Guests to “stay tuned for ‘relephant’ details.”

Lately, there has been a lot of demand for more innovative ideas and genuinely-original creations from Disney employees like the Walt Disney Imagineering team (not to mention Disney CEO Bob Iger), so a scavenger hunt of sorts that involves using one’s sense of smell just might be enough to appease some of Disney’s disillusioned Guests!

Exciting, or Overstimulating? Time Will Tell

However, sniffing their way through the Magic Kingdom and Storybook Circus could also possibly be overstimulating for Guests like the aggrieved Disney visitors who were previously mentioned — so unless Walt Disney Imagineers spend a great deal of time tweaking this “interactive experience” to keep the scents pleasant but subdued, there might be more Disney Guest complaints coming their way!

Are you excited about this new development in Walt Disney World’s Scentsy collaboration? Did you already know about Scentsy’s Disney-related products, and do you get overstimulated by the Disney Parks during your visits to this Florida theme park?
