Disney Restores Overlooked EPCOT Experience Perfect for Hot Days

If you’ve been spending time at EPCOT recently, you may have noticed that one of the quieter experiences in World Showcase has been missing. It’s not something that grabs headlines or draws massive crowds, but it plays a bigger role than people often realize.

Now, it’s finally coming back.

Disney has confirmed that the Palais du Cinéma inside the France Pavilion will reopen on May 10, bringing both Impressions de France and the Beauty and the Beast Sing-Along back to guests after a multi-month refurbishment.

The Closure Left a Gap

When the theater closed in late February, it didn’t seem like a major disruption at first. EPCOT still had plenty to do, and the France Pavilion itself remained one of the most visually appealing areas in the park.

But over time, the absence became more noticeable.

The pavilion lost one of its only indoor, sit-down experiences. For guests trying to escape the heat or just take a break, that mattered.

And for those who enjoy EPCOT’s more traditional offerings, it was a pretty big loss.

What’s Coming Back

The reopening will restore both film options inside the theater, each serving a different type of guest.

Impressions de France is the more classic experience. It’s slower-paced, scenic, and focused on showcasing the beauty of France through film and music. It’s the kind of attraction that longtime EPCOT fans tend to appreciate the most.

On the other side, the Beauty and the Beast Sing-Along leans into Disney storytelling. It’s brighter, more interactive, and geared toward families looking for something fun and familiar.

Having both options available again helps bring balance back to the pavilion.

A Refurbishment, Not a Reinvention

Disney hasn’t indicated any major changes to the theater itself, which suggests this was more about upkeep than upgrades. That likely means refreshed seating, general maintenance, and small improvements that keep the space comfortable.

And honestly, that’s probably what most guests were hoping for.

This isn’t an attraction that needed a full overhaul. It just needed to be maintained so it can continue doing what it’s always done.

The Schedule Still Favors One Experience

One thing that hasn’t changed is how the films are scheduled.

Impressions de France will remain limited in its availability, typically showing during shorter windows at the start and end of the day. Meanwhile, the Beauty and the Beast Sing-Along will take up the majority of operating hours.

That setup reflects guest demand, but it also means that fans of the original film will need to be more intentional when planning their visit.

A Well-Timed Return

With summer crowds building, the reopening comes at a good time.

EPCOT can be a challenging park in the heat, especially when you’re spending hours walking around World Showcase. Having an indoor theater back in operation gives guests another place to recharge.

It might not be the first thing you plan around, but it’s the kind of experience you’ll be glad is there when you need it.

Bringing Back a Piece of EPCOT’s Identity

There’s been a lot of conversation about how EPCOT is evolving. New attractions, new areas, and a shift in focus have all played a role in reshaping the park.

But this reopening is a reminder that some things are still sticking around.

The France Pavilion films are part of what made EPCOT different in the first place. They offer something quieter, more reflective, and a little more grounded in the park’s original concept.

And starting May 10, guests will once again be able to experience that for themselves.
