Disney World is great. Nobody is saying it is not. But if you have a child under the age of six and you are planning a Central Florida theme park day this summer, there is a very real argument that the most enjoyable day your family could have right now is not happening inside Magic Kingdom. It is happening about 45 minutes down the road in Winter Haven, at a small park that does not get nearly enough credit for how well it does what it does.
Peppa Pig Theme Park Florida, located in LEGOLAND's backyard, just announced its summer event lineup, and for families with preschoolers, it is genuinely hard to beat.
What the Park Just Announced
Starting Memorial Day weekend, Peppa Pig Theme Park Florida is launching a brand new seasonal event called Pig Family Travel Adventure. It runs on select dates from May 23 through June 28, and the entire thing is included with regular park admission and annual passes. No separate ticket. There's no upcharge. No reservation system to fight with at 7 in the morning.
The event is built around Peppa Pig, George, Mummy Pig, Daddy Pig, and baby Evie heading out on their very first family vacation together as a family of five. Guests get to come along for the whole trip.
How the Day Actually Works
When families arrive, every child receives their own Pig Family Travel Adventure passport. That passport guides them through a series of country-themed activity stations set up around the park. Each stop has a hands-on activity built specifically for young children, a stamp to collect, and a challenge to complete. Families who complete every station walk away with a special-edition pop badge, while supplies last.
The destinations are where it gets fun. Australia has a coral reef to search for sea animals. China lets kids construct their own version of the Great Wall using giant foam blocks. France features a family portrait activity. The South Pole has little ones helping dress Peppa and her family for cold weather. The USA station has families completing a puzzle together, inspired by famous American landscapes.
Beyond the passport stations, there is a park-wide scavenger hunt to help the Pig family pack for their trip, a photo opportunity aboard Miss Rabbit's airplane, and character meet and greets with Peppa and her family spread throughout the day.
The Summer Weekend Worth Circling
Guests visiting on June 20 or 21 get something extra on top of everything else. Amazon is sponsoring a special pop-up on those two dates with giveaways, interactive displays, and exclusive offers. The full details on what that activation looks like have not been released yet, but it gives families with flexible schedules a reason to prioritize those specific dates.
Why This Hits Different Than Disney Right Now
Here is the honest truth about taking a preschooler to Walt Disney World. The park is massive, the lines are long, half the rides have height requirements that exclude children under four, and the sensory experience of a crowded Magic Kingdom on a summer weekend is a lot for a small child to handle. It is doable. Plenty of families do it every day. But it is not designed around a three-year-old the way Peppa Pig Theme Park Florida is.
Every single thing at this park was built for the child who is just old enough to be aware of what a theme park is, but not yet old enough for the big stuff. The rides fit that age. The characters fit that age. And Pig Family Travel Adventure fits that age in a way that a lot of summer programming at larger parks simply does not.
A passport that a five-year-old can actually navigate. Foam blocks instead of height requirements. Stamps and badges instead of virtual queues. It is a day a preschooler can own from the moment they walk in to the moment they leave.
When and Where This Summer
Event dates are May 23, 24, 25, 30, and 31, then June 6, 7, 13, 14, 20, 21, 27, and 28. Peppa Pig Theme Park Florida is in Winter Haven, about 45 minutes from Walt Disney World. Everything described above is included with general admission and annual passes.
This summer, the best day your preschooler has might not be the one you spent months planning at Disney. It might be the one you almost did not book.
