On Thursday, June 12, 2025, LEGOLAND Florida Resort experienced a significant power outage that shut down many attractions and operations throughout the park. The disruption undoubtedly affected thousands of guests, who were left with limited options as the resort worked to address the issue.
The park shared an official statement via Instagram, informing visitors about the power failure and offering a compensation plan for those impacted. LEGOLAND Florida, which opened in 2011 on the former Cypress Gardens theme park site, is home to multiple theme parks, including LEGOLAND Florida, Peppa Pig Theme Park, and LEGOLAND Water Park. It also features several onsite hotels, such as LEGOLAND Hotel, LEGOLAND Beach Retreat, and Pirate Island Hotel.
The resort shared the details of the outage in an Instagram story: “PARK UPDATE. The Resort is experiencing a power outage. Guests may experience temporary closures while we work with TECO Energy to restore power. Guests currently in the park will receive an ‘Experience Promise,’ which allows use of existing tickets for one more visit within one year from today.”
The “Experience Promise” is typically offered when inclement weather forces the closure of attractions for an extended period. LEGOLAND Florida Resort is open rain or shine, but the “Rainy Day Promise” allows guests to return at a later date, ensuring they don’t miss out on their visit.
The power outage was still ongoing at the time of the announcement, and LEGOLAND Florida Resort has not yet issued a statement confirming whether the issue was resolved. At this time, it remains unclear how many attractions and experiences are affected. Guests visiting the Central Florida destination should reach out to customer service with any questions or concerns.
**Editor’s Note: As of 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 12, the power is back on at LEGOLAND Florida Resort.
