Disney World guests are used to high merchandise prices. In fact, many visitors almost expect sticker shock at this point when they walk into stores along Main Street, U.S.A. or browse resort gift shops late at night after leaving the parks.
That’s why a new markdown spreading across Walt Disney World has started getting so much attention online.
Guests have begun spotting a surprisingly deep discount attached to one of Disney’s most recognizable plush collections, and people are already rushing to grab items before they disappear. Considering how unusual this type of markdown is at Disney World, many fans believe there may be a bigger reason behind it.

Disney Plushes Suddenly Drop to $25
At select Walt Disney World locations, Disney’s oversized Cuddleez plushes have reportedly dropped from $44.99 to $25.
The discount has been spotted inside Magic Kingdom’s Emporium as well as Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, where displays featuring dozens of plush characters have started drawing major attention from guests.
Characters included in the promotion reportedly feature favorites like Stitch, Simba, Winnie the Pooh, Baymax, Dumbo, and Pua.
The markdown itself is what has fans talking.
Disney rarely discounts current merchandise lines this heavily unless something larger is happening behind the scenes. Discounts approaching 45% are especially uncommon inside the parks themselves, where Disney typically maintains premium pricing even during slower travel periods.
For many fans, this instantly feels like more than just a random sale.
The Cuddleez Line Became a Disney Parks Staple
Over the last several years, Cuddleez plushes quietly became one of Disney Parks’ signature merchandise collections.
Unlike traditional plush toys, these oversized versions are designed almost like giant pillows. Their relaxed expressions and flat shape made them stand out immediately on store shelves, and guests quickly embraced them as both collectibles and comfort items.
You could walk through almost any major Walt Disney World store and find giant stacks of them lining entire walls.
That kind of visibility matters.
Disney does not typically dedicate that much floor space to products unless they believe the line has strong sales potential. So when those same plushes suddenly receive a massive markdown, fans naturally start connecting the dots.
Fans Think Disney May Be Preparing a Big Merchandise Shift
Disney has not officially commented on why the markdowns are happening, but longtime park fans already have theories.
One of the biggest ideas circulating online is that Disney may be preparing an updated version of the Cuddleez line.
That would make sense based on how Disney currently approaches merchandise strategy. The company refreshes products constantly to encourage repeat spending and keep stores feeling new. Sometimes that means redesigning successful collections before reintroducing them at even higher price points.
A new version of Cuddleez could include:
- Updated materials
- Seasonal collections
- New characters
- Park-exclusive designs
- Interactive features
- Holiday overlays
The other possibility is simpler.
Disney may just be trying to clear inventory quickly.
The plushes are extremely large compared to most park merchandise, which means they occupy a huge amount of retail space. As Disney continues leaning into smaller collectible products like shoulder plushes and limited-edition accessories, oversized plush collections may not fit as cleanly into the company’s current retail strategy anymore.

Guests Are Already Buying Them Fast
As soon as photos of the markdown began circulating online, guests started making special trips to stores to see whether the deal was still available.
And honestly, that reaction makes sense.
A $25 Disney Parks plush is becoming harder and harder to find, especially one this large. Many smaller plushes throughout Walt Disney World now sell for similar prices, making the discount feel even more dramatic.
For families, the markdown also changes the buying equation quite a bit.
A plush that may have originally felt too expensive at nearly $45 suddenly becomes much easier to justify at $25, especially for parents already budgeting carefully during a Disney vacation.
That lower price point could end up moving inventory extremely quickly if guests continue rushing toward the displays.
Disney Fans Know Discounts Like This Usually Mean Something
Longtime Disney shoppers have learned to pay attention whenever the company suddenly starts marking down highly visible merchandise.
Disney has done similar things before with Spirit Jerseys, Minnie ears, holiday collections, and Loungefly bags before introducing refreshed product lines or shifting retail strategies entirely.
That’s why many guests are treating this less like a normal sale and more like a possible signal about what’s coming next.
Right now, there’s no confirmation that Disney plans to discontinue Cuddleez or replace the collection. But a nearly 45% markdown across multiple high-profile stores certainly feels unusual enough to get fans speculating.
And if nothing else, it may end up becoming one of the better merchandise deals Disney World guests see all year.
