For a while there, Disney’s Yacht Club Resort felt like it was losing pieces of itself one by one.
Construction walls appeared. Refurbishment notices went up. Guests started adjusting to temporary closures and rerouted walkways around the resort. Then Crew’s Cup Lounge closed earlier this year, removing one of the most dependable late-night spots in the entire EPCOT resort area.

Now, after months of refurbishment work, the lounge has officially reopened.
And for returning Walt Disney World guests, this is one of those smaller updates that actually carries a lot of weight.
Why Crew’s Cup Has Such a Loyal Following
Crew’s Cup Lounge was never designed to be flashy.
It doesn’t have giant themed windows or over-the-top entertainment. Disney rarely promotes it the way it promotes newer dining locations across the property. In a strange way, though, that became part of its appeal.
The lounge earned its reputation quietly.
Guests staying at Yacht Club, Beach Club, Disney’s BoardWalk, or even Swan and Dolphin often discovered Crew’s Cup almost by accident. Once they did, many ended up returning every trip because it offered something increasingly difficult to find at Walt Disney World: peace and quiet.

After a full day inside EPCOT or Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Crew’s Cup became a reliable place to sit down, cool off, grab a drink, and decompress without fighting massive crowds.
That’s why the refurbishment closure stood out more than Disney probably expected.
The Refurbishment Closure Lasted Months
Crew’s Cup Lounge closed back in February as Disney continued larger refurbishment projects around Yacht Club Resort.
Since then, guests visiting the resort have dealt with ongoing construction activity and visible maintenance work around parts of the property. Disney has also confirmed that exterior work at Yacht Club will continue through late 2026.
For a while, fans weren’t entirely sure what the future of Crew’s Cup would look like once it reopened.
Whenever Disney refurbishes an older lounge or restaurant, there’s always concern that the company may dramatically modernize the space or remove details longtime fans loved. That fear has become more common in recent years as Disney updates several classic resort locations.
But early signs suggest Crew’s Cup largely avoided that fate.
Disney Refreshed the Lounge Without Completely Changing It
Based on reopening discussions from guests following the project closely, Disney appears to have focused mainly on refreshing the space instead of rebuilding it from scratch.
Reports mention updated flooring, refreshed seating, and cleanup work throughout the lounge. More importantly, the location still seems to maintain the same warm, nautical atmosphere fans associated with it before the closure.

That’s probably the best possible outcome for returning guests.
Crew’s Cup worked because it felt comfortable. It wasn’t trying to compete with trendy bars at Disney Springs or heavily themed dining experiences inside the parks. Instead, it felt like a relaxing extension of Yacht Club itself.
Thankfully, that identity appears intact.
Guests Will Notice Menu Changes
The reopening also introduced a few menu updates.
Disney kept several popular food items available, including Prime Rib Sliders, Lobster Bisque, and the Yachtsman Signature Bread. Those items helped define the lounge’s menu for many repeat visitors, so their return is a major positive.
Still, some previous drink categories appear to have disappeared.
Scotches, Cognacs, Coffee Drinks, and After-Dinner Flights are no longer listed on the newest menu lineup. Disney also added new wine options and several non-alcoholic specialty beverages.
That mix of additions and removals has already created plenty of online discussion among Disney fans.
Some guests view the updated menu as a nice refresh, while others worry Disney simplified things a little too much.
Either way, most visitors will probably just be happy to see the lounge operating again after months of uncertainty.
A Small Reopening That Means a Lot to Disney Fans
Not every Walt Disney World update needs to involve a billion-dollar expansion or a brand-new attraction.
Sometimes, bringing back a smaller location matters just as much to longtime guests.

Crew’s Cup Lounge became part of many Disney vacation traditions over the years. Families grabbed drinks there after EPCOT fireworks. Couples stopped in before dinner reservations. Resort guests used it as an escape from crowded park days.
Now that it has reopened, Yacht Club finally feels a little more complete again.
And for many Disney fans, that’s exactly the kind of update they were hoping for this summer.
