In late May, Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort announced that their Toy Story meet-and-greet characters would be refreshed ahead of the June 19 theatrical premiere of Toy Story 5 (2026). @DisneyParks shared a video on X (formerly known as Twitter) introducing the updated looks:

Howdy 👋 Buzz Lightyear, Jessie and Woody are debuting new accessories for #ToyStory5 👀

The changes are additions to the theme park characters' existing outfits rather than complete costume overhauls. Buzz Lightyear is sporting a new shiny star sticker, Woody is wearing his bandana poncho, and Jessie has a new shiny sheriff badge.

Guests can meet the updated versions of all three characters in Toy Story Land at Disney's Hollywood Studios and on Pixar Pier at Disney California Adventure Park. Disney hasn't confirmed whether the new accessories are part of a permanent wardrobe change or a promotional update that runs through the film's theatrical window.

What Toy Story 5 Is About

Toy Story 5 opens June 19, 2026, bringing back the franchise's core trio for a story rooted in a fear that will resonate with parents everywhere. Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, and Joan Cusack return as Woody, Buzz, and Jessie as the toys face their most modern threat yet: technology, embodied by a new character named Lilypad, voiced by Greta Lee.

The film also introduces Conan O'Brien as Smarty Pants and Bad Bunny as “Pizza with Sunglasses.” Taylor Swift contributed an original country song, “I Knew It, I Knew You,” to the film's soundtrack, which comes out on June 5.
