After ;The Mandalorian and Grogu’, Pedro Pascal Is Heading in a New Direction

Pedro Pascal's time in the Star Wars spotlight may be slowing down, at least for the moment.

Following the release of The Mandalorian and Grogu, the actor's attention appears to be shifting toward a collection of high-profile projects that have little to do with lightsabers, bounty hunters, or the galaxy far, far away.

That's notable because Pascal has become one of the defining faces of modern Star Wars since The Mandalorian (2019) debuted on Disney+.

The series transformed Din Djarin into a fan favorite and helped establish Disney+'s original programming strategy. Yet despite the show's success, the future of the franchise remains uncertain.

A fourth season has never been officially announced.

Although Jon Favreau has said that he completed scripts for another season, Lucasfilm later shifted its focus toward producing The Mandalorian and Grogu. Since then, the company has remained largely silent regarding what comes next for the character.

While Lucasfilm figures that out, Pascal is moving ahead with several major opportunities elsewhere.

His most significant project is Avengers: Doomsday (2026), where he will once again play Reed Richards. The Marvel blockbuster is expected to place Pascal at the center of the MCU's next major saga as the Fantastic Four collide with Doctor Doom.

The role represents a major evolution in the actor's career and could easily become his primary franchise moving forward.

Pascal is also expanding into more filmmaker-driven projects.

In De Noche, he will work with director Todd Haynes in a romantic drama that casts him as a detective alongside Danny Ramirez. The film currently has no release date but adds another prestige production to his résumé.

Then there's Behemoth!, a Searchlight Pictures project from Tony Gilroy. Pascal leads a cast that includes David Harbour and Will Arnett, giving him another prominent role outside the franchise space.

Taken together, these films paint a clear picture of where the actor's focus currently lies.

That's not to say Pascal is permanently leaving Star Wars. Lucasfilm could still revive The Mandalorian (2019), develop a sequel film, or bring Din Djarin into another project entirely.

But as things stand today, there is no confirmed Season 4, no announced return date, and no official roadmap for the character.

What is confirmed is Pascal's increasingly packed schedule elsewhere.

For an actor whose career has exploded over the last several years, the next chapter appears to be centered on Marvel, prestige filmmaking, and new creative opportunities. Whether he eventually returns to the cockpit of the Razor Crest remains to be seen, but for now, Pedro Pascal's journey is taking him far beyond The Mandalorian (2019).

Andrew Boardwine

A frequent visitor of Walt Disney World Resort and Universal Orlando Resort, Andrew will likely be found freefalling on Twilight Zone Tower of Terror or enjoying Pirates of the Caribbean. Over at Universal, he'll be taking in the thrills of the Jurassic World Velocicoaster and Revenge of the Mummy
