Disney World Announces July Closure at Grand Floridian Resort

A Table-Service restaurant at one of Walt Disney World Resort‘s most prestigious hotels is closing its doors next month. Thankfully, another dining location at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is stepping up to cover the gap.

Walt Disney World Resort updated the Grand Floridian Café‘s official webpage on June 9 to confirm that the restaurant will close for refurbishment on Monday, July 20, 2026. Guests have until Sunday, July 19, to dine there before the closure takes effect.

Between now and then, Grand Floridian Café continues to operate on its standard schedule — brunch from 7:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and dinner from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. No reopening date has been announced, and Walt Disney World Resort hasn't shared details about what the refurbishment will change about the restaurant.

Guests staying at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa who rely on a morning meal won't be left without options when the Grand Floridian Café goes dark. Cítricos — a dinner-only Table-Service restaurant under normal circumstances — will temporarily add brunch service beginning July 20, matching the Grand Floridian Café's morning hours of 7:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Walt Disney World Resort hasn't confirmed whether any Grand Floridian Café favorites will appear on the Cítricos brunch menu, or whether the experience will be entirely different from what guests are used to at both restaurants. Cítricos currently only accepts reservations for dinner, which suggests the brunch service could be walk-up only, though that hasn't been officially stated.

Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa has been working through a broader construction effort that began last year and is expected to continue into early 2027. The most recent notable addition is The Perch: a golden birdcage-shaped lobby bar that marks a first-of-its-kind concept for any Walt Disney World Resort hotel.

Hotel guests visiting during the refurbishment period should expect some daytime construction noise and activity. However, Walt Disney World Resort's standard practice is to schedule the most disruptive work during hours when guests are typically at the theme parks.
