From the quasi-gothic worlds of Tim Burton's films and the acclaimed DC Animated Universe to Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy and Matt Reeves' more grounded take, the Caped Crusader has been reinvented countless times over the decades.

Perhaps most notably, reports have confirmed that Batman: Knightfall Part 1 will carry an R rating, placing it among DC's more mature animated releases.
Based on the iconic comic arc by Doug Moench, Chuck Dixon, Alan Grant, Jim Aparo, and others, Knightfall is best known for introducing Bane and chronicling the villain's brutal campaign to physically and psychologically destroy Batman.

DC's official synopsis reads:
“When the mysterious behemoth known only as Bane frees Batman's entire Rogues' Gallery from Arkham Asylum, the Caped Crusader is pushed to his mental and physical breaking point.”
Jeff Wamester directs the film from a script by Jeremy Adams. Wamester previously helmed several Tomorrowverse projects, including the Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths trilogy.
The voice cast remains under wraps.
Batman fans also have plenty more to look forward to.
Matt Reeves' The Batman – Part II is currently slated for October 2027, while DC Studios is developing The Brave and the Bold, which will introduce a brand-new cinematic Dark Knight within James Gunn and Peter Safran's DC Universe.
