EPCOT World Showcase Area Transformation Officially Revealed

After months of construction walls, stonework, roof repainting, and patient waiting, La Poutinerie in the Canada World Showcase Pavilion at EPCOT is finally showing its finished face. The debut is just days away!

WDWNT reported that Disney cast members installed La Poutinerie signage on the roofline overnight, bringing the building's exterior transformation to what appears to be its final stage. A painted message above one of the pick-up windows now reads: “Ready For Taste Off!”

Rolling planters continue to block direct guest access to the building, but the view above them tells a nearly complete story. Menu boards, decorative posters, and themed interior elements are already visible to guests passing by, offering a glimpse of the full experience that opens on July 1 — Canada Day.

The overnight signage installation comes on the heels of several weeks of visible finishing work, including the gray roof repaint and the hand-applied decorative stonework on the chimney, which have gradually given the structure a cohesive identity rooted in its new Canadian theme.

The Journey From Refreshment Port to Something New

The building now revealing itself to EPCOT guests spent years as Refreshment Port, a standalone Quick-Service kiosk near the World Celebration entrance to World Showcase that served DOLE Whip, specialty poutines, and standard park snacks. It closed in January 2026 for what Walt Disney World Resort initially described only as a refurbishment — with no hints about what was actually coming.

The picture came into focus in spring, when Disney announced that the Refreshment Port footprint would be permanently absorbed into the Canada World Showcase Pavilion and reborn as La Poutinerie, a new Air Canada-sponsored dining concept. The expansion marks the first time the Canada Pavilion has extended its physical presence along that stretch of the EPCOT World Showcase.

Air Canada's description of the new location reads: “A taste of Canada at EPCOT. La Poutinerie, hosted by Air Canada brings a Canadian classic with a twist.”

The menu will center on specialty poutines and Canadian-inspired beverages when the restaurant opens its doors on July 1, 2026.
