Disney has officially changed the way guests leave Disney Springs, introducing new transportation rules that prevent many visitors from boarding resort buses and boats unless they have a qualifying reservation.
The goal is clear. Disney wants to reduce guests using Disney Springs as a free transportation hub for resort hopping and other trips around Walt Disney World.

However, only days after the policy took effect, it's already becoming obvious that the new system isn't impossible to work around.
Several transportation options remain untouched, giving knowledgeable guests another way to reach Disney Resort hotels without using the restricted bus depot.
The Restrictions Stop at Disney Springs
Disney's enforcement is centered entirely around one location.
Cast Members now verify hotel stays, dining reservations, or experience reservations before guests can enter the Disney Springs transportation area.
If guests don't qualify, they can't board buses or the Sassagoula River Cruise leaving Disney Springs.

The important detail, though, is where those checks end.
Disney isn't verifying reservations across its entire transportation system. The company is simply controlling who enters one transportation hub.
That creates opportunities elsewhere.
Walking Around the Restriction
One of the easiest alternatives doesn't involve buses at all.
The pedestrian connection between Disney Springs and Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa remains open, allowing guests to leave Disney Springs without encountering any transportation checkpoint.
After making the short walk, guests can use Saratoga Springs' regular bus service to reach Walt Disney World's theme parks.
It's a simple solution that has quickly gained attention because it avoids the restriction without violating any posted rules.
Unless Disney decides to monitor pedestrian access or begin checking guests at Saratoga Springs itself, the route remains available.
The Typhoon Lagoon Connection
Another opening exists because of Disney's seasonal transportation schedule.
Buses traveling between Disney Springs and Typhoon Lagoon board outside the restricted transportation area.
From Typhoon Lagoon, guests can continue to Disney's Port Orleans resorts using Disney's direct bus service.

Although the trip takes longer than walking to Saratoga Springs, it shows that Disney's transportation network still contains paths that bypass the new screening process.
It's another reminder that managing transportation across a property the size of Walt Disney World is far more complicated than enforcing rules at one bus depot.
More Changes Could Be Coming
Whether these workarounds remain available for long is anyone's guess.
Disney frequently adjusts transportation procedures based on guest behavior, crowd levels, and operational needs. If these loopholes become widely used, the company could respond with additional verification points or revised transportation routes.
Until then, the new policy appears to be more about discouraging casual transportation use than eliminating every possible workaround.
For guests who know Walt Disney World well, the remaining gaps demonstrate that while Disney has made transportation more restrictive, it hasn't completely closed every door.
