Three incidents. One summer. The same spot on the same ride. Disneyland Resort is now removing families from the park entirely after children stand up on Tiana's Bayou Adventure.
How the Pattern Started

The first incident put Tiana's Bayou Adventure in national headlines in late June, when a teenage boy climbed out of his family's log at the top of the attraction's 52.6-foot drop and fell the full distance. Video of the fall spread across social media almost immediately.
The boy survived with only minor injuries — a near-miraculous outcome given the height involved. Disneyland Resort issued a rare public statement confirming that local authorities had reviewed the ride's safety mechanisms before clearing the attraction to reopen.

Less than a month later, a second child climbed out of the log in the same spot just before the big drop. That incident caused a temporary operational delay but resulted in no injury. Whether the second child had seen the viral footage from June is unknown.
The Third Incident — And Disney's Response
Last week, Instagram user @dvnttrip shared a video capturing the third episode of the summer. The footage shows Disney cast members removing an entire family from their ride vehicle on Tiana's Bayou Adventure before it could ascend to the attraction's highest drop.

Multiple logs are visible backed up behind the stopped vehicle, indicating guests had been waiting for an extended period while cast members handled the situation. Which child in the group had stood up — and exactly why — is unclear from the video.

As the family was removed from the log, a cast member's announcement played over the attraction's intercom system:
“Attention inside Tiana's Bayou Adventure: it is experiencing a temporary delay in operation. Please remain seated with your hands and seat inside the vehicle. Failure to do so will result in removal from the park. Thank you!”
According to reports from guests on the scene, the family was removed from Disneyland Resort following the incident. Whether that constituted a same-day removal or a longer ban from the property hasn't been confirmed.
The Design Detail That Keeps Coming Up

Tiana's Bayou Adventure at Disneyland Park does not feature the lap restraints present on the Walt Disney World Resort version of the ride. That design difference has become an increasingly unavoidable part of the conversation as this summer's incidents have accumulated — three children standing up at the same point on the same attraction raises questions that a single incident might not.
The Bayou Country attraction has operated normally since last week's temporary closure.
