Adventureland Area Locked Down at Disneyland on August 24

Guests strolling into Adventureland at Disneyland Park on Monday found part of the classic land suddenly harder to navigate, as new construction walls appeared without warning.

On August 24, visitors arriving at Disneyland Paris Resort discovered fresh construction walls cutting off sections of the original Adventureland area. X (formerly known as Twitter) user @PixiedustDLP documented the barriers in a post, writing:

The photos show brown, gray, and beige walls blocking a walkway on the side of Adventureland closest to Sleeping Beauty Castle. One of the barriers displays a bilingual sign in both English and French that reads: “This area is being refurbished for your future enjoyment.”

Beyond that sign, Disneyland Paris Resort hasn't shared any specifics about what's planned for the space. That's typical for the Disney parks, which generally stay quiet about routine refurbishment work unless it forces an attraction closure or otherwise disrupts the guest experience in a major way.

A Resort Full of Construction

Adventureland isn't the only part of Disneyland Paris Resort currently under transformation. Just across the esplanade, the former Walt Disney Studios Park — now rebranded as Disney Adventure World — is undergoing a major buildout. Crews are working on several new attractions there, including a log flume ride themed to The Lion King (1994) and Wilderness Explorers Sky Swings, an Up (2009)-inspired experience slated to open in 2027.

Disneyland Paris Resort also made a major announcement at D23 Expo 2026, revealing that Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain will permanently close in 2027. Walt Disney Imagineers plan to restore the indoor coaster to its original steampunk theme, Space Mountain – De la Terre à la Lune, bringing back the attraction's original soundtrack in the process.
