Fans of Crush's Coaster have officially ridden their last loop for a while, as Disneyland Paris Resort shuts down the Finding Nemo (2003)-inspired attraction for nearly a full year of refurbishment work.
A Long-Awaited Closure at Disney Adventure World

Disneyland Paris Resort first revealed plans back in early summer that Crush's Coaster would close for refurbishment starting September 7, 2026. The ride, themed to the beloved sea turtle character from Finding Nemo, has operated at Walt Disney Studios Park (now rebranded as Disney Adventure World) since 2007. Notably, it remains one of the only Disney attractions in the world that has never been replicated at another park.
Guests got their final chance to ride Crush's Coaster on Sunday, September 6, and Disneyland Paris Resort didn't waste time closing off access once that window ended.
What the Closure Looks Like

X (formerly known as Twitter) user @PixiedustDLP shared photos on Monday showing the Worlds of Pixar ride now fully enclosed behind blue wooden construction walls, some of which are decorated with submarine-style windows featuring Finding Nemo character artwork. The user wrote:
Crush's Coaster is now closed until summer 2027. Many construction walls have been installed in front of the attraction, and part of the Worlds of Pixar meet and greet location has also been blocked off. 🐢✨#DisneylandParis

Those same walls have also partially closed off a nearby character meet-and-greet spot within Worlds of Pixar. One sign posted on the barriers reads, in both English and French:
“This area is being refurbished for your future enjoyment.”
Part of a Larger Transformation

Crush's Coaster's closure comes as Disney Adventure World continues evolving following its March 2026 rebrand from Walt Disney Studios Park. The former movie-making-themed park has since transformed into an immersive experience centered on popular franchises, including Marvel's Avengers Campus and the newly added World of Frozen. Disney has also teased future additions, including a log flume ride and land inspired by The Lion King (1994), along with rumored plans for an Avatar (2009)-inspired expansion.
Why Crush's Coaster Needs Work
Disneyland Paris Resort hasn't detailed exactly what changes are coming to Crush's Coaster, though the ride has dealt with ongoing issues since mid-2025, when guests began reporting repeated malfunctions involving an audio-animatronic seagull stationed in the queue.

Despite Disney's silence on specifics, this refurbishment is expected to be the most extensive technical overhaul the ride has ever received. Crush's Coaster will remain closed through summer 2027, and Disneyland Paris Resort has not announced a precise reopening date.
