EPCOT guests have another reason to keep their eyes open while exploring the park this Halloween season.
Disney has officially brought back Pluto’s Pumpkin Pursuit for 2026, but the popular scavenger hunt arrived later than guests may have expected. This year’s version started September 25 and runs only through November 2.
That doesn’t leave much time to join the hunt.
The good news is that guests don’t have to change their entire EPCOT itinerary to participate. The scavenger hunt is designed to happen alongside a regular park day, allowing families to search for Disney-themed pumpkins as they travel between attractions, restaurants, shops, and other experiences.
There’s also a Halloween prize waiting at the end, whether you finish the hunt or not.
EPCOT Is Filled With Character Pumpkins
Getting started costs $11.99 plus tax.
Guests can purchase a pumpkin-shaped game board and accompanying stickers from Creations Shop, Port of Entry, or World Traveler.
After that, it’s time to start searching.
Character-inspired pumpkins have been placed around EPCOT, and participants match each one they find with a sticker on their game board.
Disney has included characters from several corners of its library. Pluto naturally leads the lineup, but guests can also search for Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, Goofy, Figment, Dory, Olaf, Groot, WALL-E and EVE, and Chip ‘n Dale.
The board gets into the Halloween spirit, too. Mummy Pluto can be seen chasing a Mickey Mouse jack-o’-lantern.
It’s the kind of activity that can give kids something extra to do while adults make their way around EPCOT, particularly during longer walks between different areas of the park.
Finding Every Pumpkin Isn’t Required
Disney has made one part of the experience particularly easy for guests.
You don’t actually have to complete Pluto’s Pumpkin Pursuit.
While finding every pumpkin may be the goal, Disney allows guests to redeem their game board for the keepsake even if some spaces remain unfinished.
That could be helpful for families who run out of time or simply decide they would rather move on to something else.
Once guests are ready to collect their reward, they can visit Creations Shop, Port of Entry, or World Traveler.
This year’s keepsake is a mini Mickey Mouse candy bag. It has a round shape with Mickey’s face on a black background and Mickey ears attached along the sides. Turn it around, and you’ll find Pluto’s Pumpkin Pursuit written in orange and yellow.
The prize is only available while supplies last.
The Clock Is Already Ticking
Pluto’s Pumpkin Pursuit may have just returned, but its final day isn’t far away.
Disney is only running the 2026 scavenger hunt from September 25 through November 2.
For guests already planning an EPCOT visit during that period, the hunt can be an easy addition rather than something requiring a major itinerary change.
Families can search for pumpkins while walking through the park and see how many they discover naturally. More determined participants can make finding every character part of the challenge.
Either way, everyone who purchases a board can redeem it for the keepsake without completing the entire map.
That makes Pluto’s Pumpkin Pursuit a relatively low-pressure way to add some Halloween fun to an EPCOT visit.
But with a shorter run this year and both maps and prizes available only while supplies last, guests hoping to join Pluto’s search may want to do it sooner rather than later.
